Has anyone done this before? And if so any pics? I'm looking to do this shortly so trying to figure out which wheel etc to use.
are they RWU or USD forks... i'm guessing RWU...
front wheel is GSXR 1000, 750, 600 K1-K4 to be safe..
get same year yokes, mudguard, clipons, calipers, discs for forks..

use it to cross reference parts.....

K3 is RWU.
Use the lot.
Yokes fit straight in, stem and bearings are the same.
Clipons are too low, use proper bars or maybe some from a VTR1000 firestorm
Fork legs... duh
Calipers SV1000, K1-3 750s, 600 or thou.
spindle, mudguard 600 or 750. not sure about thou.
wheel, everything up to 05 6/750. or up to 04 thou.
discs. 320mm. flat. AFAIK they're the same as SRAD6 /750, TLS, TLR and 'busa.
have you thought about how you are going to drive the speedo?
if you are going to use magnets/hall unit, i would stick to the OEM discs.. i had a look at the after market discs but found all of them to have odd numbered disc rivets...
if you get stuck.. gives a shout. i'm only over the water from you and always in edin...

So far i have forks, clip ons, spindle, brake calipers, mudguard all form a GSXR 600 K3.
I need a wheel and a set of discs and then a speedo workaround.
So i can re-use my SV head bearings? That is good news, i'll sell the clip ons and get VTR ones and rebuild the forks before i fit them.
So, any GSXR wheel from K1 to K4 roughly? I'll try to find one in silver to save me painting it!

Have a compare first. I think the GSXR clipons will drag cables on your fairings. And be uncomfortable.

I'll flog the gsxr clip ons for VTR ones if they are the ideal rise etc. Can anyone confirm?

I'm pretty sure the K1 600 is a 43mm fork stanchion same as the VTR. Not sure about rise.
Just one thought, is a working speedo a legal requirment for a road bike???

They don't test it on MOT. But you'd be daft not to IMO. Even a bicycle speedo is better than nothing.

I will need to look into the speedo issue soon, have you done a similar conversion?

Tried SV1000 clip ons on the GSXR 600 K3 forks and its a no go!!! They are 1mm too big!!!!
Anyone know of shims/spacers available?

Just about done with this conversion just need to get the mudguard painted and get better suited clip ons as the GSXR ones are too low to be ideal.
The stanchion diameter is 45mm so i really need a higher rise clip on in this size.
By the by the forks are ridiculously good, i thought they would be a big improvement but its not even funny how much better the bike goes with them!!!!

Pretty much broke even once i had sold the SV stuff!
Seriously you need to do this, absolutely transforms the bike. Same fitment on a K6 as far as i know. DO IT!
good job m8... looks very OEM.
the biggest difference i noticed was how much it smoothed road surfaces, the grip just keep going and the brakes actually work... it was actually quite scary the first time i done mine and looked at the speedo. the sv is just a joy to ride now ain't it m8..

Absolutely mate, it tracks the road much better through bumpy corners and when i have had to slam on the anchors it never fails to amaze me! I can't believe it would cost Suzuki alot to put this setup on them as standard?
And to top it all off its a lot comfier too! Got a 70 profile on it now too so its better again. Still to do my speedo because i used aftermarket discs they have 9 bobbins so i haven't looked into it yet. Don't miss it though bizzarely!
Does look very oem, only the calipers and discs give the game away, did you use the original pointy mudguard? I got a Harris carbon gsxr1000k2 (same as 600/750 apparently) mudguard for mine last week and it looks completely different.
What brake line set up have you gone for?

Yep SV mudguard using a couple of little brackets to fit. They are "earls" lines in SV fitment.
The discs do give it away as they are huge compared to SV discs!
