never done it but if this is any help to you I believe you need to undo the locking nuts either side of the rod that goes from the rear of the lever to a shaft coming out of the engine and then rotate it either anti clockwise or clockwise to alter the angle of the lever, then do up the locking nuts (about 10mm I think)

There's a tie bar that connects the gear lever to the input shaft of the gearbox, just in front of the bit you tread on. It has 2 nuts, one on each end. Slacken off the nuts (watch out one is a right hand thread the other left!). When nuts are slackened, rotate the bar (very easy to do) watch the gear lever rise and fall as you do so. When your happy, tighten nuts!

well I'll be damned

nah you're both right. One is for small adjustments and the other is for more major ones.

i want to raise it to make it easier to get my boot under
i was told to take the lever off and move it up a notch or 2 on the spline

God it's a hazey memory since I touched mine but yeah I think you can, you'll need a set of good allen keys or preferably allen key bits for a ratchet.

There is no spline as far as I recall , it`s held in a bush with a large washer and cap-head Allen bolt , if you undo the tie rod the lever will just flap about , Skid and Dave`s method is the way to do it ...... I got very OCD about mine and adjusted it so I had equal threads showing either end ....... what an annoyance that was .

Remember one end of the linkage rod is a left-hand thread.
There are splines on the shift-shaft you can move it around.

Yeah on the other end but not on the actual lever itself
