Great cause which I'm glad I've been presented with a way to contribute to other than through the Sun tabloid.

It's sooooo undesirable that it isn't worth bidding on, but because it is for charity everyone wants to pay for it rather than just donating money directly to charity.
Its a way of generating interest for the cause.
Problem with that?

Don't recall being angry at all. If you're not contributing to a thread, you're degenerating a thread. This is where we come back to the 'think before you post' idea.
If you have an issue with apparently worthless things being auctioned and given value because of charity, why not start a new thread on the topic, rather than trying to bring down the thread that's actually trying to do some good?

bid £15 but was out bid cannot really afford any more having served 12 years in the Scots Guards i feel that it could have been me that was requiring the help that these guys and girls need, so would like to give more but will donate privately.
