Taken today on a morning walk :-D

Not found out what species he is yet - think he'll be a moth as one was making a cocoon of silk - but I thought I'd share the pics, sorry about forcing more creepy crawlies on you again! :oops: :lol:

Completely un bike related I know but if anyone wishes to complain (I know some of that goes on around here on occasion ;-)) then I can always convert a pic into a catalytic caterpillar .... yeah ok that was bad :rolleyes:

Grim? I thought he was lovely, especially being all furrrrrry. He's the furriest caterpillar I've seen in a long time, with beautiful colouring :)

These are two different caterpillars, one was trying to get on with spinning silk about him but I think I was putting him off a little lol! We had a great view of a cuckoo too which we think was feeding on them, apparently they like big furry catypillys :)

Fury, hmm no I don't think I'd much like an angry caterpillar, would that be a bit of a hellish version of the hungry caterpillar, that classic children's book? :p

Wee Priscilla
caterpillar
feeling so contrary;
didn't mind
her fat behind
but hated being hairy.

What girl does
enjoy the fuzz
that sprouts from head to heel?
Priscilla thought
removal ought
to lift her sex appeal.

She bought a tube
of sticky goob
to rub on every day;
the label said
that if she did
the hair would go away.

She understood
that baldness would
display her figure better;
but now she's bald
she feels the cold
and has to wear a sweater

great until they fall out of a tree and land on your head. I think hairy ones are quite hazardous to touch as they can leave a nasty rash.

im always wary of things that are very hairy and leave you with a nasty rash - whether they be caterpillars or women :D

A mate of mine was climbing in France lately and disturbed a load of similar caterpillars, which bought him up in loads of measle like spots!
