I would like a contract phone now that gives me free minutes and texts for as little as possible.
I have seen there are deals that give you free laptops with the deal. Do you get a phone aswell or is it just a con?
Any advice or reccomendations much appreciated.

Most deals now come with free phone and free gift, but, you pay for it over the term but you wouldn't realise.
Go to Dial-a-Phone or buymobilephones.net
They're the chappies to use.

how long is the contract term? i see the ones with free gifts are generally 18 or 24 month contracts.

Normally 18 month with most unfortunately.
Unless you are already on a 12 month contract, then its 18mths all the way. The sim only simplicity tarrifs are good value. If you get them off the web you get extra minutes and texts + bonuses. Ok if you have a phone you want.
As for the PS3 and T303 for £35 a month! Crikey. It would have been cheaper to buy the PS3 and a T303 on PAYG. There is no such thing as FREE! You pay for it one way or the other. Most of these laptop deals are a con as well. I worked one of them out at £800 for the term of the contract. That included a £350 laptop, so made your BB very expensive comp[ared to home accounts for as little as £7.50 a month.

I'd recommend 3 up until the past month or 2
99.5% Coverage is false, as when cycling I get no signal whatsoever out of town,
My phone I had from 3 sometimes crashes, my ex had a different phone with 3 and that has started to play up lately.
Customer service is pretty wa....k
Only plus is the price, I pay £16.00 a month for the 1100 tariff with 3 with an N73.
Mate has just got the £25 package with Vodafone, Nokia 5880 600 Mins Unlimited Texts I think.
A useful site for cashback, paid directly as they act as an affiliate - http://www.quidco.com I got £80.00 back when I signed up for my 3 contract, takes 3 months or so to return, most phone companies are on there.

I've been on pay and go for years now and am fed up with it running out of credit all the time and my phone now is pretty much dead.
I dont mind an 18 month contract but what i dont want is to feel like ive been conned. I am a true beliver if somethign seems to good to be true it actually isn't.
I may be proved wrong though.
Just get a phone with a good tarriff. Orange and T mobile usualy have good tarriffs

Was the same, and only reason I went on contract.
I was toppin £20 a month up on PAYG then realised I could get more if I got a contract.
I just waited for a good deal to come up which it did for me in the end, shame about coverage in rural areas + wank customer service.
