As I cant find a 'welcome' area to make my first post in and as I live in South Wales, I guess I "belong" in this room, so, hello all :smt039

I have bought myself a 2000 'W'-reg SV650S as my first bike. I am collecting her tomorrow and am going to be riding her most of the day getting used to all the controls and nuances of the bike.

I learnt to ride on a CBF600, so an SV650 is a bit of a different beast.

I hope she provides me with my happy commuting/touring/fun miles over the next year or so.

Anyways, that’s my introduction,

ddiolch

Looks like from you signature that your bike has some things I want on mine like progressive front springs, a new rear shock and a scottoiler.

But, one thing I am happy with about my 'Curvy' is she has an Arrow end can, and it makes her sound the dogs danglies (and it is legal)

Will do, in time.

I also drive and Alfa Romeo called 'Bella,' so I have done vehicle meets, but, I wanna get used to the bike and sort a few things on her first

Give. naow! :smt021

Yeah the suspension mods really sort the handling out, it's very good, couldn't want more for fast road use.

My 'Curvy' is in my grandparents garage, because I didn't know the previous owner had it on SORN and I can't un-SORN it till I get my insurance documents :-(

I can personally vouch Swindon > Carmarthen is totally boring - do it every week (Worlds greatest account manager :smt038) albeit in the car !

On the P£$$ in Carmarthen on thursday - :thumright:

Welcome !

Too true, I used to do the Cardiff to Bridgend run when I was learning to ride in my DAS training. I have no doubt I will be repeating it a few times in the coming weeks, but, what I meant about in and around Cardiff/Caerphilly was that I work and live in the prior and the latter respectively... lol

In a car it is never going to be fun, unless it is Cardiff to New Quay (west Wales) via the heads-of-the-valleys road, now that was fun :smt023

Whats with the arguing about speed of bikes?

Straight line speed is boring, its about how fast you can take corners :-p

I was taught by 1st Class Rider training. I just think riding fast in a straight line is easy, it is the corners where the fun can be found

After some research I have found that I would have to wait till the beginning of next month if I wanted a full 12 months tax of Suzi, so, tomorrow morning I will be going to the post office to get my tax disc, change her fluids and filters and then some water-proofs before I go out for my first ride on Suzi, wish me luck
