Look into ROSPA also, cheaper than IAM I believe.

Dave have you thought about a bikesafe or IAM might help you get your confidence back ?
No bikesafe round here, "We are police officers not riding instructors". So it has to be either IAM or RoSPA

Sorry to hear about your crash mate. Glad you're OK.
I noticed you said this:
would love to do bike safe or iam but it seriously expencive but i think it would be worth the outlay now
I was under the impression that it was quite cheap? A days course with my local police force (West Yorkshire) is only £45 inclusive of lunch. Or are you talking about a totally different Bike Safe course?

FFS Just seen this sorry to hear it dave hope you're okay
Not had time to read the thread thoroughly but if you still need them I have some cheap renthals.
Any advanced training is good, I went with bikesafe recently didn't learn anything (I can think of) from the theory bit as I'd already done IAM training. So I'm guessing £50 for a days bikesafe should see you well as you learn the advanced riding bits, get some valuable feedback on your riding, get a roadcraft book and free neck buff - and best of all impunity from speeding tickets for the day.
Good if you fancy something less time consuming than rospa/iam.
Edit: oh and lunch is included :D

Ace thanks :D (I have identical bike)
Working in a Honda dealer people say the VTEC can scare them as its "snatchy" and "just comes in" one day im gunna tell them to grow some b******s and get on with it, when theres a VTEC blade then you can complain

they gave me a hornet first thought i was on a mini moto so took it back and got the viffer dramatic improvement
aggh luckypants how do you put the single seatcowl on i got it off but dont know how to put it back on
the oposite way you got it off, just slides on dont it maybe try to pull it apart at the sides?
Luckypants
20-05-09, 03:16 PM
it slides on IIRC, but you need to ease the little location lugs into place on the underside of the seat. *goes to look at manual - RTFM always helps!*
Nah, you just slide it over the seat from the rear with the seat off. turn seat over then locate the little lugs into the holes in the seat base.

Well, there might be an opening in the South African police as a consultant - I saw their riot team training for the world cup, and I think they'd benefit from your expertise :p
