I predict an action movie within the next 18months or so, where the lead character will jump off a cliff using a wing suit, chasing the bad guy. He'll then fly down the mountain side, almost clipping the rocks as the bad guy speeds away in his sports car.

Finally, our hero will pull up sharply, deploy parachute, then release it with perfect timing to drop into the passenger seat of the sports car as it's drifiting around that hairpin.

The hero will kick the bad guy out of the car, and steal his woman.

Cynical, me?

I need to get a wing suit and a lot of practice then! Woohoo!

That looks good fun.

What's the caption on the brochure for it then? "Normal base jumping not dangerous enough for you?!"

Hey gg !
Are there any of the F1 two-seaters knocking about?
Get a ride in one of them at your interview.

Haha........I still don't know if I'd fit my ample hips in the seats...then my boobs would just get in the way of me steering!!! I'll take the mercedes pace car for one hell of a ride though!!!

That must make the greatest non-racing ( sort of ) car sound going!

One thing I've always wondered.....

Are all these guys just rich kids whose parents support them financially just spending their adult lives travelling the world to do this or do they actually do any work to fund it. I know that some of them have TV deals and the like, but not all of them........it's an expensive lifestyle....how do they do it???

I wondered that too. I think its primarily the domain of the independently wealthy thrill-seekers. You need a lot of experience to do this sort of thing, base-jumping, parachuting, rock-climbing just to get up there, etc - and the average joe just wouldn't have the free time or money.

Indepedently wealthy at that age plus having the time to commit to all the training.......thanks mummy and daddy, yes I'll take that massive allowance/inheritance etc. I would say that maybe they formed successful businesses really young and sold them off or became silent partners....but that would be a hell of a lot of work to combine with the kind of time that needs to be invested in training and travelling to get to this standard. Crazy.

Lucky bstards!

I rekon you'd be suprised at just how little it costs to do this sort of thing.

Initial layout yes, for the chute/suit/passport etc, but then the world is your oyster!!

I know a couple of people that have travelled the world, and basically all they do is work enough to put a roof over their head and food on the table (generally this is just a simple case of doing a favour for someone in some way, not what I'd refer to as "work" anyway).

Once you've got a roof & a full belly, whatever time you have left is your own to do with as you please.

Entirely feasable to do this sort of thing on a budget. It's just about not getting tied down with responsibilities early on.

But yes, lucky beggars!!

A lot of the guys I knew in uni got into this by first getting their jumps in from the parachute club... annual trips over to the states where it is far cheaper to jump and if you are in a uni club itīs next to nothing.

Links made up whilst in uni means that cheap and sustainable lifestyle doing this is not as difficult as it first seems.

+1. Look at Snowboarders; plenty of them work in fairly poorly paid jobs, but still afford helicopter rides to the top of mountains to board off piste with reasonable regularity.

Given the chance, I'd give this a go for sure.
