Can anyone advise how i convert my twin renegade exhaust into a single exhaust system. I.E how i would go about either capping of the twin link pipe?

Why you wanna do that? Just curious because I thought your bike looked really good with it.
Have you bought the bike like this or did you do the conversion into 2 yourself?

If its a full renegade system then no, not really anyway other than to get another system.

As dyziowg said, why though?

The cans where removed for the ZX10R shock replacment this caused air leaks from the cans and the connections on the link pipes. I require new exhaust clamps to sort this.

The second reason is tightning up a loose can cap led to a snapped stud inside the can the only way i can see sealing the can now is liquid metal.

So a possible solution would be just going down the single can route.

Go to halfords (any motor spares) and look for some exhaust sealer. That you put in the joints and it will seal it all!

Im still not really sure what your saying though, you just need to seal the system? Id certainly try to stick to 2-2 system, more power's :D

No No No. The clamps are easy...get them here http://www.stagonset.co.uk/fasteners?output_frontpage=yes&clickthrough=adwords&keyword=mikalor%20clamps&gclid=CLb09bb0vZoCFYVM5QodZ2aEsg

The stud is a bit more difficult, but can be fixed by any engineering shop. Its effectoivly a bent bolt, and the can will come apart easy enough. Take the preforated tube to a machine shop and get them to cut off the stud and weld a new one on. In the meantime use domestic silicone sealent to seal the hole/gaps/air leaks and all will be fine. Its a lot easier than sealing the take off for the second can which would need a cap to be made for it (Renegade used to supply one with the system IIRC) or finding a second hand system on ebay.

I may have the second exhaust outlet cap supplied by Renegade in my garage, it was supplied to allow the standard can to be refitted for MOT etc. I'll have a look if I have it.

EDIT: Although Viney's solution sounds better!

Sounds like that solution might be worth a shot i will measure and count the number of clamps required tonight.

Any ideas on what a repair like that would cost?

It's not a full system the rene is just a standard one with an extra stub on it in a random place.

There's a cap to pop on it as luckypants says. Also has the advantage of getting the weight back closer to a normal slip on!

In all honesty, if you paid more than £20-£25 id be very suprised.

Make sure you get the Mikalor S/S clamps and in the right sizes. I cant remember for the life of me the diameters of the pipework are though.
