View Full Version : Shortening a sidestand
As some of you may be aware Im a bit of a shortarese, anyway had the bike lowered recently and its made a huge difference, the only thing not altered was the sidestand, anyway Ive just managed to kick the bike over, thankfully without damage but I need to shorten the sidestand, so , its aliminium, is it worth just cutting a bit off and leaving it as is or should I shorten it but weld on the foot again, does it matter ?
Thanks

Cut it down so that you're happy with it, (obviously just a bit at a time!), then get a suitable oval plate welded on the end.
would it be worth getting another one to fiddle with ,just in case you get it wrong matey. Then if you get it wrong you're not left without a stand

Could you not file down front of pivot point so it sticks further forward?
depending where in the country are you... i can have it welded for you...
Im a fair bit down the road from you Bibio, sunny cheshire to be exact, but thanks for the offer mate :D
