picked her up this morning
on Thursday my restriction ended so got on de-strangling the beast and balanced the carbs but with it being solid rain since then I've had no chance to ride it, this morning i thought nuts to it and braved the rain, probably ruined my new expensive leathers but i can't shift the smile from my face :D
all i can say is im gob smacked (its a first). The first chance i got to open her up my words were "F### me!!". Its not so much the acceleration but the whole bike has changed. I've ridden a few different types of bikes (R6, R1 ect ect) so its not like i haven't experienced power before lol.
i was shocked. its much louder :smt028, runs a lot smoother, throttle is a lot more responsive........ oh and after 6k is a nice power kick
when your restricted you forget you have half the horsepower you should and think of it more as just having your top end capped (well i did anyway), been on a few org rideouts and I've never really noticed any difference between me and full power bikes as im usually somewhere up the front anyway so i was really just expecting 75+ to be alot quicker.
i was board sh!tless of my restriction after 4 or 5 months and really had the fight the urge to take them out (even worse when you know how lol), quite a lot of people on here who didn't know me well for some reason thought i was full power and TBH i myself am surprised i decided to stay legal
having said that im glad i did play it legal. Not for the fact that i've had a few ding dongs with pc plod, or when i had my accident i was asked to prove i was restricted a few weeks after and the fact that i would have been going a lot faster than i was, i certainly can say wouldn't be here today :-|
i have always loved my sv to bits (could say a little to much 8-[), I've never kept any of my bikes as long as i have this one but again those that know me well know that a TLs was on the cards months back and nearly purchased, i may still get one end of summer, but for time being i can enjoy my sv because another advantage of pulling out the restrictors after all this time is...... i now, to me have a new bike and have fallen back in love with my sv again  :smt049 and may now do all the mods i wanted to :smt035
trackdays here i come
