Found myself sat on the sofa last night watching the first of the New Knight Rider series on Sci-fi channel on Sky+. I must admit I was very pleasently surprised. I used to love the old series as a kid and my initial thought was that the new one would just not do the old series justice. So far so good in my opinion. Am looking forward to seeing next part of the series. :thumleft:

Well in the first one which i think was supposed to be the pilot, "The Hoff" made a guest appearance right at the end. I agree it was not the same without the Hoff but his replacement is not that bad on the eyes. Going to give it a chance to grow on me:)

Hey...thats not KITT either...I'm starting to feel cheated already, not even watched it yet!

I'll give it a watch....gotta be better than the new biker series on Bravo, on a Tuesday night :-)

I must admit I thought I would feel cheated too...... I mean how can they replace the Hoff and KITT but I must admit the new KITT is a much upgraded version and does not take anything away from the old one at all and Val Kilmer is the voice of the new KITT. The CGI is fantastic from what I have seen so far.

Seriously worth giving it a chance.

no it doesnt work, its like starski and hutch, the remake didnt work ether. next there be making a new star trek film without the original cast.

Seen them all when they were aired in the states over the turn of the year.

I liked, but looks doubtful if there will be a series 2

Just watching the pilot series now on SCI FI. A Ford Mustang replaces the Trans AM, and the voice of KITT well, it's just not the same.

The car styling is cool though :cool:

Watched the trailer ages ago when it first went to the States. As an original KR fan (I have Series 1+2 on official DVD, and every episode series 1-4 on naughty DVD anwyway) I found it quite.. insulting?

It's like the new Red Dwarf.. it's just not the same somehow. :|

KITT is actually voiced by Val "Iceman/Batman" Kilmer........

Surley progs like knightrider/airwolf etc.. should be left in the 80s - so we can pretend we didnt watch complete drivel growing up.

Loved it back then though.

First official episode aired in UK last night on the Sci Fi Channel at 8PM and then again 1 hour later on Sci-Fi +1. I have recorded it on SkyPlus as was not able to watch it last night so will be checking it out tonight :) Can't wait, as from what I have heard so far the pilot was good but the first episode is even better as the "New" KITT was actually not finished 100% yet in the pilot and is in the first episode. The CGI is fantastic!

Thank, i'd rather stick in the 80's where muchos guns we're fired but no-one ever got killed and you could turn an empty baked bean tin into an Apache Helicopter.

Its a nice gimmick to have and better than the "Super Pursuit Mode" they had at the end of the original run.

I enjoyed the whole season, but there will be no more to come - it got canned the other week

Just to bring this up again. :)

I'm currently watching it for the first time (the revived series, I watched the original).

OMG, how crap are the CGI sequences? Did they not have a budget to work with?!?!

The CGI reminds me of "Thunder in paradise"... and that looked old in the 80's!

Still, I'll keep watching, mainly as there's something decent about it. :)
