Very nice. an SV as suzuki should have built it in the first place

God that's ugly
I'd rather have a standard sv and just put better suspension on it. Oh wait, I do

oo I think I'd consider that. I like yellow though! I like banana swingarms..mmmmm. Just don't like the look of the seat. At least i wouldn't have to strip the wheel paint, its already polished :-)

Yeah, if I had the money!

I doubt its chrome, just polish ally. However I just noticed, that swinger should be shiny too ;-) Banana swingers look nice shiny. But then I'm biased, Im Indoors has one on Elsie.

I like that alot. Be interesting to see it with black frame swingarm and wheels. I wonder how much import ta is ?

It's been a long time coming - weren't they originally going to use the Hyosung 650 V-twin engine from the Comet?

Looks nice apart from the exhaust.

Nobody else think it looks like a photochop then? :smt017

If it is real I don't like it!

The only thing that is SV about it is the engine, so no more or less an SV than a DStrom surely?

I like it , especially the front end , If Suzuki did a sharper SV I would seriously consider one , one with a bit more emphasis on better handling out of the box , they would be onto a winner .

Saw these a while back when it was on "Guess what bike " thread , liked it then and I still do , my main worry would be spares in this country and re-sale . Mirrors look Super-useless as well , they would have to be binned instantly for a better alternative .

Wow that's amazing! And it's the same as a new Gladius (there about, the same as a Monster, meh I can't remember) over here! GET IT IMPORTED!

not too keen on the looks, plus it is a step away from what the sv650 actually is.

looks like the chain in the second pic is abit slack!

black frame looks alot nicer :)

dizzyblonde
18-05-09, 02:11 PM
It will look slack, its on a paddock stand.

What difference is that going to make?

dizzyblonde
18-05-09, 02:17 PM
forgive me if I'm wrong(I finally show my blondeness here) doesn't a swingarm 'swing' so putting it on a paddock stand pushes it upwards, forcing the chain to slack?

DarrenSV650S
18-05-09, 02:24 PM
No because the weight of the bike is still going through roughly the same point - the end of the swing arm
It's not much different to the bike being on it's wheel.

DarrenSV650S
18-05-09, 02:25 PM
also, if you push up the swingarm, the chain would get tighter

pencil shavings
18-05-09, 02:26 PM
It might cause the chain to look slacker, going by the logic that you should only adjust the chain on the sidestand to avoid over tightening.

but regardless, when doing promo photos, its ok to overtighten the chain to make the bike look better, and then untighten it abit afterwards.

dizzyblonde
18-05-09, 02:27 PM
well I did say admitting Blondeness! But yes, that'll explain why you shouldn't adjust a chain on a paddock stand.
Slight derail oops

If you don't use a paddockstand it's much more annoying to check for tightspots or otherwise as you can't freely spin the wheel. :o

its easier to clean/lube/inspect the chain on a padock stand, but do not adjust the chain on the padock stand. This can lead to over tightening. Adjust the chain with the bike suported by the side stand.

I always adjust mine on the paddock stand and haven't noticed much difference when I put it back on the side stand

you can if you push the back end up and in towards the sidestand(if that makes sense)so the weights pushed onto the stand, then it spins as free as hell. Cleaning is just the same too, laying on the floor ain't a problem for me to get in close to a chain to clean and inspect it.

I also get a good workout while I'm at it for free:D

I'd be forever scared of dropping my bike... I almost dropped it in the garage the other day... thankfully my R&G's and the big roll of carpet and other junk that you'd keep no damage occurred... Imagine if that was outside in PUBLIC!! :smt089

It was a bit un nerving the first couple of times I did it, but now I'm a bit of an expert at pushing the ass end with one arm and spinning the wheel with the other.....jinxed now though ;-)

ok back on topic

Holding the bike up with one hand?
Oh dear...Life is easier than all that. ;)

I have a stand at home but on the road I use a scrap of wood that accomplishes the same thing by pushing the bike up and on the side stand.
About to go on a trip so I'll take some pics and show you how it works.
You probably have some things at home you can make one out of ....for free.
Works a treat !!!!.... and the bike won't tip over!

A paddock stand won't affect the chain differently from a sidestand. Just don't adjust your chain on an Abba stand or NWS stand
