View Full Version : Old Crash Helmets
Just a thought, but if you have any old crash helmets hanging around, why not pop them down to your local fire station. They use them for training to deal with motorcyclists at accidents.
Dropped an old one off this morning, and the firefighter I gave it to was extremely grateful as apparently they are hard to come by, so if you have an old one gathering dust somewhere, why not do the same.

slightly more useful than turning them into hanging baskets too, which is about their only other use.
And Lissssa admit it, you only went to look at the hunky firemen, i know what you girls get like round them ;)

Hadnt thought of this.
My old one, I cut off the straps and chucked it at the local tip.
I was just about to throw it in when one of the guys working there said he would have it.
I pointed out that it had been in a smash and he just said hed fill and repaint it before selling it on.
I went back to my van with it and threw my claw hammer through it before chucking it in the skip.
I cant believe that someone could sell on a helmet that they knew was damaged!
Great idea that, next time I replace my lid I will nip down and offer the old one to them
i never knew this..
i will however make everyone i know aware of it... there are always old lids kicking around our lot..

See.
Spidey secretly wishes he'd known this when he was younger and joined the fire service but shhhh! dont tell anyone that.
