That's not all of them! TLW, Haggis, Venom had a little knock and I;m sure there's a few more...
Is it the wet weather or are cage drivers just wearing blinkers as a growing fashion trend :-(
Ride safe everyone.

Where's the poll then? :p
My last off was May 2007. Looked at cliff instead of road, rode bike into cliff. Bike written off, me slightly battered. See here http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=1197299
Before that I managed 10 years without a crash.
EDIT: Poll put up while I was typing!

Thats one explaination.
The other may be that with the Government wearing blinkers so that they only see speeding as the cause of accidents, and they now have that covered by cameras, they can downsize the Traffic Divisions of the various Police forces.
I discovered the other week that South London has only 8 Traffic officers.
So, cage drivers do stupid things, get away with it, so go on to do other stupid things, so we then end up with the situation we are now in.

I've never been knocked off in five years. NOW I'm cursed. I've dropped them countless times, and caused my own little personal crash, but thats it.
SK speaks the truth. I've always observed a lot of crummy driving, but its getting worse. Especially arrogant rich ****s in big expensive cars with personalised plates. Grrrr.
It does make me mad that the govt don't appear to be addressing this issue - or that they haven't even realised that it is an issue.
You gonna run for office SK? :p

yeah, carry a lump of it on top of my shoulders!
The Org is huge.
We have in excess of a couple of hundred active members, and a lot of them do big mileages, all year round.
Take the Soho Massive. If you assume we've got 50 "regular faces" the vast majority of them run all year round, filtering, through London.
If they were to have one contact every other year that'd still be an average of one a fortnight. (Though frankly, some of us have been trying to make up other people's shares).
You can't have a community with a couple of thousand registered users and then be surprised that people you see post are involved in accidents.
Some people are serial repeat offenders though...

The main thing I am commonly seeing is people "sneaking" through the lights at the last minute more and more.
Its gotten to the point that most of the time I can anticipate the lights changing to my favour at a crossroads not by cars slowing, but by them accelerating to make it through at the last minute.
Or this morning, when at the end of Chancery Lane turning right onto High Holborn, 2 long-wheelbase vans ended up blocking traffic in both directions when the lights changed because of pure selfishness.
Damn those wet leaves down South...
Jan 2006, by Blackbush market, Bennets fracture in the Thumb, not descovered it was broken till March!
The main thing I am commonly seeing is people "sneaking" through the lights at the last minute more and more.
The point being is that standards of driving and consideration to other road users are falling. I see it on motorways (cos thats my commute) and you see it in towns (cos thats your commute). It's a downward spiral, as people treat as they find.

Its not Shipley itself, its what you have to drive through to get to it! BRADFORD :-(

True. Motorcycles aren't the safest mode of transport, they fall over by themselves
I've done 4000 miles in the past 3 months and had a small off. Previously I dropped the bike every year when I did my annual 4000 miles. Must stop looking at the odo every 4000 miles then throwing my bike onto the tarmac.
Couriers who do loads of miles in traffic are expected to crash every few weeks.
March it was for me. My own fault for poor obs and not seeing the cacky road surface.
I think it's made me a better rider though.

Exactly what I was going to say..... It`s daft to imply there`s a curse, just look at how many of us there are and statistics will say that somebody will have an off at some point through the year. I think the recent run of bad luck just coincides with the weather improving and us getting out on the bikes more.

I got hit by a van that didnt leave a roundabout when it should have done and just carried on around and into me in my lane like i wasn't even there.
I agree driving standards are heading downhill and its sickening. The Govt wanna show TV ads that say its ok to hit kids at less than 30mph...why are they not showing ads that say DONT hit kids, bikes, cars or anything else for that matter instead??? WTF is going on there?
I got rear ended by a woman on a mobile, we were doing about 10mph at the time. I make her stop, (she didnt see any rreason why she should, she was busy having a phone chat and couldn't i just get out of her way) call the cops and when they arrive, they tell her to about her business and proceed to give me a lecture about road safety. Idiots like that dont help driving standards get better either. :smt068
I did tell them that i sincerely hope the next person she colides with is one of their kids and its only when they're visiting in hospital that they might think they should have done something about her in the 1st place.
What does that say to her when the cops just tell her to go? Its acceptable to be on a mobile while driving and hit the back of a moving vehicle and the cops will do nothing about it. SO wrong.

Look at the reasons people buy certain cars - the NCAP rating.
Basically they are buying based on what they percieve WILL happen WHEN they hit something, not if...............

Had an off at the end of december, New Tarmac laid, blipped the throttle and the bike decided it didnt like the the direction I was trying to go. Dont know why it happened but have since found out that when they lay new tarmac the layers coat their soles in diesel as it doesnt stick to tarmac.

I voted keith D but I dropped my bike on saturday, and my mate dropped his when he came to meet me at college today.
Never touch wood......I know it going to happen, and I know its going to bloody hurt because I will be doing something silly
Until recently, I used to carry a piece of wood in my pocket for just this purpose - a mcds stirring rod, broken in half so I could have one piece in my leathers and one in my textiles :p
I'm actually quite shocked at the number of people who have come off in the last year when you add them all up  thats most regular users of the forum although there is alot of us lol

I'm yet to fall but I did nearly rear end a car today (was busy concenrating on the van trying to run me off the road for daring to filter). It is, however, ****ing it down as we speak and I'm riding home from work in half an hour. I'm touch all of the wood in my office.

Its not a curse.
Things like this just happen. It could be the weathers fault, now its nicer an increasingly larger amount of people are coming out on the road and aren't driving as well as they should be. Ive had a fair few amount of near misses this month, including a fool who decided to try and get across the roundabout (on my left hand side) even though I was halfway across.
Ride safely everyone :grouphug:

Not too brilliant over the Wolds either
Funnily enough, I've had the SV for five years now and only had my first hospital stay in December. The bike was completely fine, I wasn't

I crashed my CBR125 last year getting a bit too keen on a back road as the light was going down...came round a corner, hit a spread of gravel and away I went. That was before the org and hoping to keep the bike the right way up.
