View Full Version : MS Word Problems, Need Help :(
:smt093
Open Word, start typing, after 5-10 minutes or so I get this message popping up.
http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo306/_saoralba_/MSWord-2.jpg
I have to press ok, or close the pop up window, and word closes, which doesn't mean I lose my work, but its preventing me doing any work.
Any ideas what it is computer boffins? :)
Any suggestions with reference to get a different OS, linux, mac's, don't really help :)
TIA David.
Is really annoying me and hampering my studying :(

Try downloading any updates and installing + reboot
If not, uninstall. And install openoffice

It could be lots of things...
Is it just word or does anything else such as Excel do the same thing.
I'd be inclined to
Uninstall office, give your machine a reboot and then reinstall office again and see if that helps.
Run your machine through a windows update and get all the latest OS & Office patches downloaded and installed as well.
That would be what I would try first anyway...

System restore to when it was okay may also help.
What is open office, apart from the fact its similiar to MS office word?
Not very computer literate, nor literate in general :$
Theres only one update, which it doesn't let me install, which I *think* is a office/word update.
@ plowsie, this has happened before, a few months ago, so a system restore ain't possible, can't remember any dates/months.
I don't tend to use the computer often for doing reports, mainly work in college.
Don't use excell on this computer, couldn't tell you.
Have tried restarting the computer, to no avail.

Opensource software. So completely free :D
Why companies shell out for MS Office licenses I'll never understand

If you have the works add-in, removing it could solve it, otherwise just go through one of the methods on that link ^ .
Open office is gd, it's similar, free & will probably do all that you need it to.
