Hi guys get my restrictor taken off at the end of the month! :smt035

Its the F1 international type that will be taken off my 2005 sv650s k4 only been on since august '08.
cost me £160, £50 to put it on and £50 to take it off i guess by suzuki! BIGGEST FRIGING CON EVER!

Thought I'd put it up now as would prefer to swap it for something.
(looking for any luggage, exhaust or belly pan)

Don't know how much they go for second hand gota be worth £65 del?

I will be heading down the 33BHP route myself once I get that irritating little detail of testing out of the way. I have a K3 Sport and have been given conflicting advice about restriction kits. The local dealer wants just over £400 to fit a kit that he described as a washer that restricts gas flow into the engine. Fowlers told me that an ECU kits was about £65 with a fitting fee on top and a small local shop who I am growing to trust told me it was a simple engine mod, but did not go into details and quoted about £200 to fit it, including signing a form that registers it as restricted somewhere. :smt104

What actually is the truth here and what is the best system to use? Will fitting a great big washer to my fuel inlet cause harm to the performance and thus damage the engine? :smt017

I have thought about the DAS route, but after a bad experience I am very much in favour of a lower power bike for a while, as I learn to ride a big bike safely after my tests. :smt038

Sorry to thread-nap. Will a K4 restrictor fit my bike? I imagine that they are the same engine really... :smt112

My local shop joked with me that they could fill in the form and drop the kit down a drain, but sadly they really were joking. Is it actually easy to tell if a restrictor is fitted or not? :smt018

i got mine supplied and fitted with the ECU for £ 200 at the dealers .

the washer kit is bout £ 20 cheaper but takes 4 hours longer to fit !!

ECU is the better and simpler option.

Dont pay FI anything, there a waste of money. All your paying for is a certificate that you dont need. Get a second hand one if your intent on restricting it and fit it your self.

Don't get the FI kit, buy a 33BHP restricted ECU and just swap it over with the full power one already in the bike. They are about £50 second hand, it takes 3 minutes to do, and costs you nothing to change. It is that easy, **** paying hundreds of pounds for it! And forget about the "certificate"!!
