is this the heads of the vally road?

just planning a route, is it any good? or would i be better going via pontypool, newbridge, meas-y-cwmer, caerphilly, nelson etc?

HOV is a shizzle road. If going from aber to merthyr it's quickest but dangerous and bad if stuck behind lorry.

bad. If it gets misty to it can be horrible. But go for it. I cant come up with alt route.

cut across llangynidyr mountain? You go from beaufort to Merthyr on the HOV instead but you miss aber out.

Heads of the Valleys is just a dual carriageway most of the way, not that interesting.
