+1 A classic fairy tale, with swordplay, giants, an evil prince, a beautiful princess, and yes, some kissing. What more does a film need?????

I watched Pan's Labyrinth last night and although I really didn't have high hopes for it I was pleasantly surprised, was a fantastic film. I thought it'd be a kid's job of a film but there were some gory bits which I didn't expect. And there is a monster in it that I could not stop laughing at everytime it came up on screen, havn't laughed that hard in a long time! Even now it provokes a chuckle :-D

Watched Doomsday the other night. Gore-tastic. Daft. Ridiculous plot. Signature bad-guy-eye-gouge............

From the guy that did Dog Soldiers (has half that cast too, Sean Pertwee is class) and The Descent.

28 Days Later meets Mad Max in Sherwood Forest and Glesga.

Pan's Labryinth was a surprise for me too, thought it was some kiddy pish until I gave it a go when it finally was on the TV.

In Bruge was so good, my parents went to Bruge. No doubt so they could stomp around saying 'F***in' Bruge' in Irish accents.

I'm sure that's both Naughty & poor quality.
Why not sign up for 3 months of free DVD rental using the promotion code for Tesco DVD in http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=126925 (as long as you've not had a lovefilm free trial before).

As long as the films are out on dvd the quality is perfect. Is that tesco thing to rent the dvd's?

Yep - I thought i was a kids film, right up to the point where he smashes that guys face in  I had to rewind it ti makes sure I hadn't imagined it. Really enjoyed the movie (not because of the violenc though)

Other films I really enjoyed recently:

The Fountain
Taken
Deep Water <- Quite a good, but sad documentary
Also loved The Wrestler, but don't think that's out on DVD yet
and The Reader was very good
