So I have a car which will play cds/mp3 cds.

I have also purchased plenty of music on itunes and figured it would be nice to take some in the car. So I burn 4 cds. 2 Were off an album that I had bought (eg disc 1 and disc 2) and the other 2 were mixed of tracks that I had downloaded (via itunes)

The 2 album cds work fine, but the mixed cds don't load and it just says function error.

I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help but would be greatly appreciated if any ideas could be posted here.

Cheers
Dave

That doesn't explain why 2 albums that I purchased off itunes work fine, but random singles don't?

Covert them to MP3 and you should be OK.

are you burning the albums as audio cds and the singles as data discs?

I think I did them all as audio cds. But i'll double check.
How do I convert them to mp3?
thanks for replies.

If you want to burn individual tracks, I believe you will need to create individual playlists for those tracks...then on the main screen Right Click the Playlist and Click Burn to Disc...

Open itunes ->Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Burning

There you get to choose the format you want you're CD to be.

If you have a MP3 compatible CD player, click MP3, as you will get over 100 tracks on one CD, compared to a audio CD, which allows you around 14 tracks.

I don't know what you use to download, but when adding songs to you're libary, you want them to be in MPŁ format.

To change/check this;

Open itunes ->Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Importing.

There is all you're options when importing files.
I have my itunes burning in MP3 format, and importing with a MP3 encoder.
HTH.

Not really, but I have noticed that when selecting 'properties' on the MP4 tracks there's a little padlock symbol on some of them. Presumably you need administrator rights to overide this. These are the tracks that I haven't been able to convert.
