Just took the wife pillion for only the 2nd time, 1st time she hated it and said she felt unsafe.:)
Been on about 25 mile round trip so not far but she was a lot more confident when she got off.
I only had the bike 2 weeks when she last got on so my riding ability was crap, but it has improved a fair bit so that has helped.
i took it easy speeding up and slowing down and cornering so not to spoil her fragile confindence.
Gripping the tank with my knees when braking has helped enormously, it stops her sliding into me as well as the triboseat grippy seat cover which is the dogs hairy gonads.
Gonna buy some love handles tomorrow as her gripping on to me really puts the weight on my wrists which started hurting almost straight away but i have problems with that anyway albeit not as much.
Anyway, i'm a happy bunny at present and wanted to share it :):):):).

Excellent. Im in the same boat. Mrs Guru loves it now. We've been out nearly every weekend since I started taking her pillion. Was out today, increasing the mileage every week aswell. Done a 75 mile trip today.

I know where you're coming from, make no mistake, my missus would be over the moon deep down if i called time on bikes, she thinks all they do is provide organ donors.

Better watch she doesn't catch 'the bug' and want her own license/bike!

100% certain that wouldn't happen, she wont even drive a car albeit she wants to and has had lessons but hates driving so it would only be for convenience.
I would happily pay for all of it if she wanted it but i know she wouldn't.

I don't have a wife, but do enjoy taking pretty girls on the back. 8)

Glad both you and her are enjoying it.

Biking is such a big part of my life I think any lass who I was with would have to enjoy bikes or bugger off. Luckily MissYC seems to love them...

My missus started off hating the bike but want to go pillion now. Unfortunately she told me this when I wasn't really listening so I got a thump the other day for looking totally blank when she asked when we were going to go buy her a helmet.

.
Try and get her to use her legs more (i.e. squeezing with her knees) when you brake/accelerate. Then the weight is being transferred to your legs and the bike as opposed to your wrists. Might take a few more rides before that but if she can start thinking about it then might get the ball rolling :-) It really does make a difference to both pillion confidence and rider.

I sincerely hope you are not implying my interest in bikes is merely a ploy to keep you interested in me LOL :-P (We'll take this outside:smt064 :smt081)

Little update...........
Went to bikers world today and i am £235 lighter (they have had some serious money off me in the last few months im just starting to realise)
Bought the wife a very nice rst leather jacket but had to buy a back protector insert as it didnt come with one:eek:.
And, some love deluxe love handles which put 2 handles at the back of me instead of at the side which i prefer.
Went out this afternoon for only a 12 mile ride and it was great.
It was the wifes idea as well which is pleasing.:)
Not being wedged against the tank now which makes my riding better.
Hopefully a few more miles next week and slowly go further until we can eventually do a trip.
Happy dayz.
