First happened a couple of days ago, i was up at the co-op (stuck working on till) when a guy and his young son come over and he asks me if i know whose bike it was outside, i said it was mine, and he asked if his son could have a sit on it while he takes some pictures. needless to say my face was like :smt040
Now today i was again up at co-op, this time buying scratch cards when 2 little kids come running up asking me if they can have my bike, i made a joke and said maybe in a few years, there mum and must of been gran or someone comes up asking if the children can have pictures on it, so they both take it in turns then i start up the bike, they have try to reach the handlebars and give it a little rev while there gran records it on her mobile.
I like to think im inspiring the next generation to get motorbikes, :takeabow: plus what a good feeling it is having people admire your ride.

I did this the other day in not such a good area, I let the kids have a rev (with the same inspiring intentions..and also to distract them from throwing bricks at stuff) but they were little ****s, only about 10 and one asked me if he could 'have a go on my mrs'! I was laughing on the inside, but it's not a good thing at all! Eventually encouraged them to **** off.
sidenote: a day or so later a guy who's bike up the road I service got dragged away and trashed, ripped everything shiny off the bike and bent it, slashed all the seat/wiring etc. even threw bricks at the frame. Coincidence?

Sounds like you live in a really great area, are all the kids over that side of the hills like that?

Not in my hood, this was at my mates. they were the type of ten year olds with tribal crap shaven into their ginger heads.

You must be very good looking. I get off my bike and people tend to run away!

Carol and I took our bikes (well my SV and my CG) to Cheddar when Spring first started to show through the winter gloom. A young lad with his Dad was totally enthused and asked if he could have a look. I told him to jump on and he looked at his Dad like he was about to betray family honour. You see, Dad had a Bandit. The kids Dad just laughed and The Kid sat there and told his Dad that he wanted a real sports bike like our SV...
Recently my Step Son has developed a liking for bikes and now claims ownership of Silvie. This would be great, but when it comes to washing, waxing and sorting Silvie, where is the little Darling? On the beach with his friends. :smt019
Another thing I like about owning and riding bikes is this. A few years ago I house shared with a then good friend who I had known since college. He was always telling folks that he was going to take his test and get a ZXR400, despite having never ridden a bike. He sneered at me when I told him that I was planning on getting a bike. Then at a family gathering I mentioned in all innocence our plans for bikes. His Mum went mad and banned him from doing so. He was thirty six! I bought my SV two years later, he is still henpecked by his Mother! :D
:) its cool when all the little kids are looking, and your hear them saying bike in their little voices, i prob did it as a kid as did a lot of people.
A bloke and his 1 - 2 yr old son came into the shop i work at and i kept hearing a hissy growl noise, it was the blokes son, me and my colleguae looked at each other like wtf ad then saw the boy wandering about making the noises, the Dad then said "its his way of saying bike" :D cute little boy as well
