...then you'll certainly find it there. We were exchanging PM about this place, Daz was asking do I know it. Not the precise park, no, but I know the area - it's on the south side of Lake Vyrnwy, and a more beautiful place would be hard to find. You can see some of the forest in the pics. It's just stunning, with red kites flying overhead. My phone (Orange) doesn't work at Vyrnwy, so I'm fairly certain that there would be no signal at Pont Llogel either. Nearest town is Welshpool, probably 15 - 20 hilly and twisty miles away, Mach is 25 - 30 Welsh miles the other way. The river is the River Vyrnwy. Would need to have a big car (to carry the beer from Morrisons at Welshpool! - nowhere closer I'd say. Great for doing sod all, fishing, and taking a dinghy out on the lake.

Park looks well maintained and van looks in good nick. Furnuishings included? - even if not to your taste, it would cost a fair bit to replace them. Site fee reasonable? Is it all year round or winter restrictions? No ban on bikes? Any play area for the kids?

Looks lovely. Next time I head out that way I'll take a detour:D

the site rates are £1300 pa plus lekkie and gas, like i say the caravan is very well looked after and the inside is immaculate, its just the 13 year old stigma and the 9k price tag thats making me think a little more, there is a playground for kids and the site owners kinda vet you when they meet you :) they say they like it quiet but bikes are ok :) i think its all night partys they dont want.

i like the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere (am i sad) i think its because where i live its so busy and work can be a nightmare.

Looks great, a perfect retreat.

Some site owners like to shift the older vans off site even though they still look good. No fear of that happening in the next few years is there? Might be worth havin a word.

they told me their was no age limit as long as the vans are kept presentable, this is one of the first things i asked.

I know what you mean! It's why I enjoy walking (countryside walking..). It's amazing to get away from everything and just chill out.

Looks a lovely little place does that Kwak!

go for it kwak mate- ya money wont be earning you any interest in the bank at moment -- so buy it.. well negotiate then buy it..

then in a few years you can sell it on ok it will be older but it will look better cos we all know the Kwak treatment will make it superior to what it is now eh..

just look at your past year etc.. your collarbone with your off. your job threatened then the promotion.. you deserve somewhere to sit n chill and have beers and good conversation..

plus its not far from me I can come visit or rent it cheap for a weekend.. espesh when I get my canoe.

serious .. it an investment.. maybe not in monetary terms but in health and happiness wealth it cant be beaten..

A friend of mine has a van somewhere up here. Its already payed for itself, as his wife and kids are up there more weekends than not. He works locally and he can just zoom off after shutting up shop, and have a flippin good ride over there for the weekend.
He doesn't feel the need to spend a fortune on foreign holidays, and its payed its way in that respect, over and over.

i'd always be there cus i only work 4 days and then get 3 off every week :) the site stays open march to october but the owners say the services remain connected so you can really go all year round :) the march to october thing is to keep the rates low.

I think it looks fantastic, even in the rain:cool:

It's in the middle of nowhere, really. It's about 6 miles south of the eastern end of Lake Vyrnwy, Powys. Nearest town is Welshpool, next nearest is Machynlleth (pronounced 'Ma-hunt-leth', spelled Mach for short). Take the road from Shrewsbury to Vyrnwy and turn left a few miles before the lake.
