Hi, over the past few days my bike has started to leak petrol out of the overflow pipe. At first I assumed it was coming from the carbs but when I traced the overflow pipe it led to a white t-splitter and then I followed one back to a bottle by the front right of the frame which we assume is a fuel expansion bottle which my dad reckons is only on the jap market bikes, and then the other pipe went into the back of the tank. After finding the overflow pipe in the filler neck I covered the hole and blew one the overflow pipe from the other end where it was leaking out of, we listened and we could hear a bubbling sound coming from the fuel tank so we have the conclusion that the overflow pipe is broke.

Has anyone else had this problem and can it be fixed or is it a new tank jobby?

Thanks Rob

RTFM ;-)
Tank on front right is the expansion tank for the cooling system. It's on practically any water cooled bike.

Overflow for this is T'd into the drain pipe for the fuel tank. This drain pipe you are losing fuel out of is meant to let water that gets around the filler cap drain away.

The pipe through the middle of the tank has corroded through. There have been some fixes done with pushing a rubber tube covered in epoxy through the drain tube.
