call it ocd, call it not being able to sleep, call it power mad:smt077
I've had a bit of a read through the whole ecosse section and tried a few test searches for thhings i know are there. even knowing they are there, It sometimes takes a bit of legwork through the search results to find them due to the amount of what some would call historically interesting posts and others would call drivel.
For example there are nearly 200 threads with no replies and 300 with 1. I'd thought about starting by deleting those.
There are also numerous threads about the same thing, ie any particular rideout can have half a dozen threads, I can merge these into one thread.
Lastly (for now anyway) now that we have one thread for the "spotted" SV's the historic ones could go.
Like I said, just the ramblings of a drug imbued, sleep deprived mind. Its your section, I'm just here to try and keep it runninng smoothly:smt077

power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely
that seems like an idea time to annoy richie :)
Deleting obsolite posts is a good idea. The problem however with keeping every thing related in the same post can get too big and become a drag to sift through if you have'nt logged on for a few days. The spotted thread for instance will very soon be a monster and huge posts can be a bit off putting, for me any way.
People like to start new threads on the same subject to "freshen it up a bit" and generate a little interest again in the subject. This is some thing that happens in all the forums I visit and I don't think you will change that no matter how hard you try.
If you have plenty time on your hands you could weed out all the drivel within any given thread, but again people like to post drivel or the forum would be a quarter the size it is now.

The spotted thread for instance will very soon be a monster and huge posts can be a bit off putting, for me any way. Which is why I'll regularly be edditing the thread to keep it relevant

This is some thing that happens in all the forums I visit and I don't think you will change that no matter how hard you try. Yes but for example, 6 threads for a rideout can be merged to one short one with the relevant facts after the event for information purposes, if someone wants to look back at it to repeat or check attendees etc
If you have plenty time on your hands you could weed out all the drivel within any given thread, Starting to do this, just removed about 100 posts from the GMII t-shirt thread. but again people like to post drivel or the forum would be a quarter the size it is now.
Yes but as stated, makes finding the usefull stuff difficult. Just trying to make things easier,:smt033

I have no thoughts, on this topic or anything else, I am a man of action.
You must do what you feel is right, of course.
Go for it KG - we'll clutter it up again soon enough :D
