OK need some quick advice. Im making a tail tidy, got the metal, number plate and everything. I have been inspired by the template on the main website, and the design is quite similar.

I've had a look through the search and cant find anything.

There is a huge gap (or there will be) when the replacement plate hanger will be. The old plastics take up much of this space, and it neeeds to be water tight because of the electrics etc.

Its a k6 pointy. I dont know what to do!

The images on the main site are not so clear, please help someone!!

is it attached on the outside or the inside of the undertray or what?

I can see what hes done.

looks like standard base plate but larger so probly home made. Bent centre part down, and welded supports behind.
Looks like a cheapo universal tail tidy that is just bolted to his homemade bit with extra holes drilled in it for the wires.

Sorry for the lack of replying, I've been busy in the garage all day. Got some sheet steel, cut a few stencils and played around with shapes and sizes.

I don't have pictures of what I've done so far but i will take some tomorrow and post them up if anyone is interested.

Its looking quite good, will probably use black Hammerite for the finish, so it will be nice and strong :)

OK heres the work so far if anyone would like to know :)

After figuring the best way to mount it all up i started cutting some brackets and bits and bobs. This is what i have so far. I will be using the original mounting holes, with some longer bolts.

The tidy will be mounted on the exterior with silicone and rubber for water proofing and vibration reduction.

I used the guide on SV650.org. The link will only go to the main page, some of you will recognize it. I created brackets for the plate illuminator as well to keep it all legal, as well as little wings for the indicators.

First coat of Hammerite is on. I'm gonna source some heat shrink stuff for the indicator wiring, as well as using grommets and silicone/grease to keep the moisture out of the ECU etc.
