ha..

wel as I do a lot of work in my shed/workshop.. and often there are nails n tacs and screws and shards of metal around and even though I pick them up and brush .. I was worried about my tyres as the bike is stored on the right hand side of the split shed. so.. this is my answer to the dilema.. piece of carpet that I roll out before rolling the bike out of storage..

couldnt get red carpet - wish I cudda done.. would have made a good start to gettin the bike out for a rideout..

now the carpet reaches right to the decking so no worries of stray sharp bits..

i needed 2 feet by about 12 foot..

went in to one carpet place they didnt even look up and acknowledge me..I walked aroud looked at roll ends.. were about £25 anyway cos wool n stuff so i headed for door- no goodbyes nuffinn.!! went across road to other carpet place.. young lad working hard but eye contact and a nice hello.. and can i help .. tld him what i wanted and purpose and he went stright to this roll end at £9.. and let me have it for a fiver.! barrgaaainnn i jsut had to cut it in half..

went back to my car..

the previous folk were outside their shop havin a fag as I approached with a roll of carpet.. it was obvious they missed a sale.. I wanted them to say something so I could do my pretty woman..

"big mistake.. Big BIG MASSIVE ".

well it was only a fiver but hey there's a recession on..

But Quiff, you spoil your bike every time you sit on it :)

Just make sure when you roll it up again no nails or sharp bits get rolled up with it ;-) Good idea though, I always get paranoid when YC puts his in the garage, the amount of small puncturable things that could make their way onto that floor!

Liking the pretty woman quote there too Quiff, showing your macho-ness frightfully well

I thought you had done it just as a joke

Seems a bit sad. If I saw someone unrolling a carpet every time they got their bike out I would laugh.

But if it saves you a puncture then I guess it's worthwhile. If it was me I'd just clean the cobbles

Where'd you get the shed from, it looks like a belter! I'm looking for something similar for my bike with double doors and plenty of size.

Ghey

Mandy, best leave early before you invest too much in that relationship!

Quiff, I'm amazed you dont scrub each cobble with a tooth brush anyway :D

Luv you, Richie's wife.......

Dunno about the Pretty Woman quote Quiff. The one that springs to my mind after seeing that pic is your own version of Father Jack. "FECK... AR5E...I LOVE MY...bbbBIKE!".....(hugs GSXR, drool optional)

I must admit to having a bit of carpet under mine in the shed too, to prevent staining the nice wooden floor with oily drips! :p

Send the missus down the path in bare feet a few times to warm your seat before you go out for a ride, she will soon learn to brush up the sharp nasty bits.

Sounds like you have been letting her get lazy.

BTW screws/nails all cost money. Once swept up she will need to sort appropriately

Pfft a true yorkshireman would specify that any nails or screws found to be beyond reasonable repair get weighed in for scrap.

no joke.. I got no sense of humour.. .

the cobbles are so small..and the amount of work I been doin landscaping and building fences /sheds etc could be any manner of metal objects in the gaps that could kick up easily. so laugh away i will continue to lob n roll..

Or a brush?

I do I do.. i brush it and pick it.. and Pete not far off toothbrush it ..

but with my anality and my OCD I need to err on the side of caution..

I would be bloody annoyed if I got a nail in my tyre now wouldnt i.. ?? its a 12 foot run of cobbles to the decking and the exit on to the drive..

Hinting at a Duke then carefully ignoring the enquiries as to what it might be. Very cool Quiffster. =D>

Remember that off on the North/South? That wasn't cos you polished your tyres was it?:p

I've red carpet'd the bike side of my garage, just cause i got it for nothing and it makes it easier to see if you drop anything on it, honestly;)
