Hi,
I'm looking to get myself a set of leathers, a friend of mine has a HG Tricky2 kit and rates it high, I'd like to get something similar (sport-touring leathers, preferably with removable lining, up to £500).
HG Aberdeen usually doesn't have the correct size in stock (which is easy as I'm a shortar$e), so I'm thinking about visiting a few places around Glasgow while I'm there.

How's HG there? Do they have much stock? Held stuff lookd nice (in the catalogue), but again, very little in stock around here.
I'd also visit J&S Hamilton, any other places you cold recommend?

Cheers

HG have the biggest stock in Glasgow, second only to J&S for best in the west, so a couple of good choices there.

Worth a peek in Ducati since it's just along the road and Ride On also have a decent stock if you're prepared to risk crossing the river.

Try Victor Devine as well, have bagged a few bargains in there especially on the Dainese stuff, they even discounted a jacket for me by 10% which amounted to a reasonable sum :p

The guys in HG Glasgow are pretty good they know their onions. HG own's leathers have good reviews compared to more expensive kit. I was going to buy HG one piece leathers but I saw they had a 2-piece alpinestars set with £650 off- a sale price of £250. So i bought them!!! being a midget I got a bargain.

HG also have 10% off if you spend £100, or 20% on a £300 spend at the moment, heard on the radio. Helpful staff in Glasgow too.

my OH went to J&S for leathers a couple of weeks ago, and they weren't interested in selling him anything at all, they weren't helpful at all, which is unusual, maybe the wrong bunch of guys in on that saturday... He ended up at HG for his leathers, they posted them out free of charge for him too as they didnt have his size at that store, were very helpful and knew what they were talking about. :)

Have you joined 4the ride ? If you are going to HG I have an email offering 25% off anything over £500 or 20% over £300 its for Edinburgh though, I am sure one of the west coasters must have signed up for the Glasgow mob . Can someone prit him off the voucher ?

Thanks everyone,

Tosher, looks like the vouchers are named and for specific shops. But don't worry, I'll think of something :D

I can recommend HELD stuff as being very good and having had an off wearing the textiles I am surprised it is still 99% servicable, but I am still using it in preference to my HG two piece leathers.
Held also seems a better fit,its just a pity there are so few stockists.
Good ventilation on hot days, lining removed, and with the lining in I have never been cold during the winter

Cheers,
Went into HG today, and guess what, they don't have the Tricky leathers in stock :smt005
The guy recommended the Oxan2 kit, will probably go back tomorrow to have a better look at it.

Bike Sorce is the name, lot of kit in a small space. Last time I passed a sign in the window said they were moving but it's only 50 yards from HG so got to be worth a look.
