It's ok. Clear enough. Clicking some of the menu items causes the main page to jump a little left or right. Check your borders are consistently set on each page.

nit pick away lads thats what this is about....

I honestly have absolutely no clue about HTML/writing web pages etc I just bought a £20 beginners start up pack that guides you through the process, so knowing there are that many errors and knowing that it can jump is all good to know and things i need to look at so much appreciated!

Right save your current index page as index 2 (make a backup so if any thing goes wrong it can be rectified) then click this link

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.babysfirstcalendar.com% 2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&No200=1&st=1&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654

scroll right down to the bottom copy that code and put that into your new index page upload to your sight and then let us know and we can retest it for you. :)

That code at the bottom i have copied, saved it as a html file, uploaded it to that validator site and it has passed, so try that.

Yes it shows in Firefox
It's all good Danny, Yellow is a pretty good colour for babies when you are avoiding both pink & blue to remain gender neutral
About us & Sponsors pages are both equally a bit to the right all the rest are the same.

Good luck getting the sponsors :)

Your page is clear as to what people will get

Are there any picture examples of what it looks like when its on the wall or have I missed something in that its only the thermometer that goes on the wall

Could you have a picture gallery of different examples of the calender especially as you've run the first one with your son

How are you getting the calender to new parents? Do you send it out to all health visitors to pass on or is it a website address to order from?

This comes from my point of view as a new parent sometime ago (18 years!!!!) and you ended up with so many freebies you didnt always take note of what you got

Hope this of some help if not bin the suggeations i wont be offended lol

Good luck with the venture

Looks good to me, but you have spelled *their* as *thier* so a spellcheck would be worth it. Like the colour, and everything else.

The font's a bit dodgy IMHO - doesn't look very smooth or slick.

Also, there are a bunch of spelling and grammar mistakes. I'd be happy to proof read the content properly for you if you'd like, and point out the errors as there are more than I'd like to bother listing here. You also need to develop some consistency of content - for example, you refer to 'baby's first calendar', 'Baby's first calendar' and 'Baby's First Calendar', which makes the content somewhat disjointed.

Apart from that, it looks like a decent enough site, although I'm not into babies, personally - and I'm not sure what the idea is behind giving away something for free to expectant parents... I wouldn't have thought there was much of a revenue stream for you, and I can't imagine you're just doing it for fun, are you?

Just a quick, couple of points (it *is* Friday night)

Give the pages meaningful names as opposed to Page1, page2 etc - if someone were to bookmark your site they would have no idea what they relate to. Also, it helps search engines.

The grey menu looks at odds with the yellow background.
The menu on hover - remove that annoying arrow and change the hover link from blue, underlined to something else.

Check w3c validation - you fail: http://validator.w3.org/

Then go here & make it a bit more accesible for those with disabilities: http://www.contentquality.com/

If you make the menu scroll along the top as opposed to along the side then you will remove some of that empty, dead, white space.....

advertising dear boy tound the edge.. for companies that are baby specific .. -

how do you tackle the fact that babies need different things at different times.. 1 month and 11 months.. but they arent all born in January so how do advertisers get to have the best date for them to hit that age that the baby needs their stuff.. they surely cant can they??

I like the yellow- of course it has to be a neutral colour no girly pink or boyish blue..

good luck with it.. .

Have you tried approaching companies like Betterware or similar door to door sales companies.. Kleeneeze. etc.. as a stand alone sale item no advertising round edge..

moreover have you a patent?

good luck with it.. wish you well..

this is the kind of thing that when I am tinkering in the shed or with my bike an idea will pop in my head about ti- so .. be prepared for me to pm you with some good bad or indifferent ideas.

and.. that Dan bloke on the green bike above.. .. he is a bloody good writer - serious- and very articulate and proof reading would be his forte. so take him up on it- he's clever- dont let appearances deceive you-
