I'll say no more than 5 or 6.
I use WD-40 on the chain, wheels and some of the chassis bits.
My bike is always clean and I only use 3 or 4 cans a year.

I use WD-40 on the chain
Is it an O-ring or X-ring chain? If so you shouldn't use WD40 on it

According to the WD40 official list of 2000 uses for the product, under the heading of motorcycles, it can be used for 'lubricating the sunvisor'.
it also can be used to stop beavers chewing on your trees.

.
Its very good for getting oil fling from the chain off your wheels.

As long as you don't bath the chain in it, then its fine. I use it on a rag and clean my chain with it. Have been for 5 years, and my chains have been fine. Im Indoors has been cleaning his chains like it for eleven years, and hes had a lot of bikes with chains, none have failed due to WD40

When I was but a poor student living in student halls, there were two rooms in our block where the smells were exotic (not the usual stinky armpit smell either!).
Nathan's room was a smoke filled ghetto of loud dance music and the fumes of what ever weed he had acquired that evening and my room smelt like a petro-chemical factory due to cleaning my Orange Clockwork Mountain bike with WD40. :study:
I would use about a can a month just cleaning the MTB, so to clean a big bike he would have to use this much...
