its only up the road from her house though..:D
I think it shouldn't be the National anthem anyway. That is the anthem for Great Britain. I honestly think there should be a different anthem for when England play. Jerusalem, maybe.

Nought wrong with the National anthem, but why is the last verse never sung ?
Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring
May he sedition hush
And like a torrent rush
Rebellious Scots to crush
God save the Queen

Be enough queens on the pitch without another one in the stands.
I hate 'GSTQ' - wasn't it written as some sort of 'celebration' for Culloden?
We could send a Cabinet minister, but they would claim it on expenses.

I wonder why too?
My national anthem doesn't contain anything about beating England
Its surprising how many Scottish people only know limited verse's of O' Flower of Scotland.
Am I making things up, or didn't the MP's try and make Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England all sing the same national anthem, God Save the Queen a while back?

Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

Actually, God Save the Queen is our national anthem too (technically). Scotland the Brave is actually closer to a national anthem than Flower of Scotland.
P'raps she stayed in to watch a recording of the Lions rugby game.
Proper football and greater number of her subjects represented.
OK, blue touchpaper lit, time to retire!:smt077

Not argueing at all, just interested :)

That would be the Norman Stanley Fletcher version?
Come where the hands are clapping
Come where the feet are tapping
Come where the Jocks are strap.......
Not my words, you understand....... ;-)

How right you are!
Football: A game for gentleman watched by hooligans!:salut:
Just abolish the royal family full stop...no "GSTQ" then.
Bunch of sponging free loaders who in my eyes do bugger all for the country.

Neither England nor Scotland have their own official anthem. England (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_anthem_of_England) tend to use the UK anthem as they have never been able to understand the Britain/England distinction, whereas the Scots (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_anthem_of_Scotland) like to distance themselves from such turgid dirges :D
personally my choice for national anthem would be Land of hope and glory (yeah i know not in the current climate but even so)
as for the queen and charles being at the matches maybe or the even the young royals but maybe at the actual games not the qualifiers
