View Full Version : Vista
Anyone having issues with Vista at the moment? I have had so many updates come through the last couple of days and now its continually crashing. I was about to reformat the drive but was thinking of putting it back to XP... :(

Yeah I got the updates and SP2, but I've had no problems at all.
(using Vista Premium 64-bit)
It might be an incompatible driver issue, so try unplugging any usb hardware things (like printers, scanners) before switching on

YES! Vista 64x Ultimate, constant freezing bluescreening and rebooting, 5 times this resulted in corrupted OS needing re-install.
Bluescreen points at issues with my GFX Card (2048MB RADEON HD 4870X2 PCI Express + 2 x DVI).
Tried everything under the sun with no sucess so I've sent it back to manafacturer to get them to sort it as I've had enough =p
I hate vista!! my laptop keeps freezing/ slow to upload sites etc, done lots of virus scans etc, do all the updates when they come through and if anything its got worse

You should have gotten one of Jambo's Ubuntu CD's off of him @ Soho last week then :)

We run one of the PCs at work with Ubuntu and we had a bit of a shock the other day when it randomly made a screen saver of images and most of them were very rude  Good job the boss never saw them! We've deleted that function now :p

Mine is fine. Although I have had a few issues with BT broadband this week. They had to put me on another bandwidth or summat, casue for some reason it wouldn't let me go on the net. All fine now though :-)
Have had a few issues with Vista in the past, but that was when it was brand new on the market, I've had it on my laptop since new(about two years now), and its got better with age..lol

Mine did exactly this a month or so back, I tried loads of different things and ended up having to completely reload Vista. Then obviously I had to re-download all the updates from MS. It's been ok since - touch wood!

Ive just rolled it back to mid April using the backup button. It's a Stinkpad W500 and we use it as our main server.
It was just randomly freezing but has been like that since Saturday and now progressively worse.
Ill see how it goes as a drone for a day or two.
