View Full Version : nice easy routes
I should be getting my bike back on the road soon. Ive not ridden for 18 months and did not do a lot of miles on bikes before that. Im new to area. anyway last night I found a nice wee road that I will do when I get back on bike, it is close to home, nice smooth with a few easy corners.
thru aldershot to tesco, straight on to wellesley road then left onto bourley road then turn round and do same route home again. should be a nice short first rideout

A 3 month wait for Raptor parts...that's not bad ;)
You could also try the road that goes from the roundabout near tescos down to fleet past the horse race course, its nice and easy and a 40 limit as well so you don't need to go quickly. Also the road from Farnborough/Northcamp-Pirbright-Guildford is good.

that is the road I meant. I found it last night as I was looking for the collection point for my son as he is away to cadet camp tonight.

lol while waiting for parts decided to send it to big al to be painted. its on its way back so just need it to pass MOT. everything crossed.
ahh yeah, i dont read the road names, me bad! the second rotue i mentioned can also be started from ash vale, not really much else around here though, unless you enjoy farm lanes!
dont particulary enjoy farm lanes but once I get the hang of the bike again you never know.

Thats sounds brilliant to me! I think that a GM girly rideout is definately in order! Tara can follow in the car and laugh and point!
Boys can go separetely if they wish
Lets sort out a date for that x
i would've been joining you on the bike if i wasn't in this state but yeah i'll follow but i won't be laughing and pointing

Here KK nice little bimble to break you back in.
Route (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Arrochar,+United+Kingdom&daddr=56.105747,-4.838104+to:Aldershot,+Hampshire,+UK&hl=en&geocode=FQF6WQMdTou3_w%3B%3BFRj3DQMd-070_w&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=10&via=1&sll=56.120295,-4.827118&sspn=0.362099,0.878906&ie=UTF8&z=10) ;)
If you want to get your eye back in then the road between Elvertham heath and Hartley Whitney (A323) is great. 50mph road with a roundabout at each end. I use it all the time with folks who are nervous about corners.
In fact the A323 from the Farnborough bypass all the way to the end is a great little road for getting your confidence back.
Or join an IAM group and see if that helps. Stu or I can help you get into that if you like.

I think KK's done that.
Indeed she has, was an observer for one of the Glasgow groups
In which case she'll be welcome back into any group and can get rides with sensible folk.

Seems like the 'no rideouts in the GM' is soon to be a thing of the past.
Our van just passed its MOT now so we will load the bikes and dogs up and drive down...thats what we are doing for our visits to Cornwall and France, so much easier that way, my bike isnt exactly made for long distance travel x
