You are getting rather round my friend. Share the pies once in a while. Happy to see you were having the time of your life. :)

Looks like a fun way to spend a holiday  Where is it Spain or somewhere exotic like Oman?

Heh, no, Fuerteventura.

Prospects for dicking about in the UK are rather less impressive.

That's not my gut, that's body armour. Which, incidentally, came in handy when I lobbed the bike halfway up a steep hillside and threw it and myself at a load of big pointy rocks. Three cheers for cuts and bruises.

Nah, that was quite enough off-road action for now.

Next stop is a visit to the Grand Prix des Frontieres in Belgium next month.

Seriously, I'm glad I was wearing it. I cartwheeled several times over some big pointy rocks with the DR-Z coming after me and, thanks to the armour, escaped with only cuts & bruises.

My specs didn't come away quite so well. Bent into a figure of 8 they were, courtesy of my landing on them. That'll be another couple of hundred to messrs Dollond and Aitchison on Wednesday.

Nonsense, a coat hanger and two coke bottle bottoms is all you need!
