tech wizzards of the org, please recommend a free convertor which will take powerpoint files and turn them into pdf's... The event producer started moaning at me last time because we didn't have the correct software to do it on our laptops (even though it's their bloody job to convert the files whilst conference is in progress then give them back to me so they can be uploaded to their ftp site by the end of the day...)

CutePDF, pdf995 - have used both with good results. Different output files sizes to each other (and to Acrobat, interestingly) so I guess they use subtly different algorithms for compression etc

+1 on cutepdf
it installs as a printer so any program that can print can now export pdfs
simples!

that sounds like a globalscape app? (use cuteFTP pro for uploads :D)

Primo PDF also works like a printer
