Verryy nice... I really need to do this. :D

But you'll have to do it like every couple of weeks or it'll go all manky again! What an improvement. :D

It's a female Kwak! I'm sure Kwak has a constant supply of Autosol so you could ask him where he gets it in bulk.

Once all the rust is gone it's easy to keep on top of it every few weeks to keep it shiny.

Good work, looks good...for now

Its only a matter of time and overdraft before you just throw in the towel.

I have a fab time saving technique for doing the downpipe if anyones interested?

if its done properly in the first place, it only needs a light polish everytime its washed(and not a full tube either), then a knuckle scraper once in a while:D
Its all in the wrist technique:rolleyes:

Nice downpipe there, much nicer than crappy brown;)

its just hard to explain in words n i didnt wanna type it up if it no use to anyone.

Ok, basically you need a length of cloth, about the size of the average scarf i'd say. You loop this round the downpipe once and apply your autosol to the pipe. The motion then is a pulling motion with each hand in turn (if thats making any sense?) this gives you much more rubbing power per stroke than the usual :toss: method.

I hope that made snse. its so obvious if i could show you, lol. Right everyone round my place for an autosol cloth choosing and positioning seminar.

Oh that!! I know what you mean, I do that.

Only in emergencies. The damn things always have a knack of catching your pipe and taking a gouge out of it.

Well big "secret technique" i thought i had myself

Did the dremel thing when i polished my forks last year. Tip: Dont put autolsol on and then switch dremel on whilst looking closely at the point where the 2 meet to make sure youre getting right into that stibborn bit. Trust me, Autosol in the eye at nearly a billion mph is not fun.

SO have I...
2 SVs, one Raptor and an SRX. In fact scrap that the SRX is too far gone for autosol:shaking:

just found a verrrry fast way of polishing down pipes..... use the rag see-saw method but put a strip of scotchbrite pad (green scouring pad) on the rag and add autosol on it then buff away.. 5-10 min later a nice shiny downpipe... BTW i used asda cheep crap thin washing up sponge..

yeah i used the scouring pad - seesaw method too - just on the down pipe tho.. didnt need the harsh treatment on the rest of the bits :)

i realise i going to have to keep doing the autosol clean now.. but honestly that brown nasty bit sticking out vs 10 min ... i'll happily clean it every weekend.. :smt023

my bike was in a real state after taking it out on boxing day last year - didnt wash the salt off after - so seeing it back to its glorious state... brings a smile to me dial :smt055
