Original exhaust

Would the original exhaust system from a 2004 sv650 fit a 1999 sv650 curvy? Just asking because i need one for the curvy and there is a system cheap on evilbay. :confused:

Do you need the entire system or just the can? I have the can from a standard system in the garage off my curvy.

Hi luckypants. I may need the full system, but will inspect it more closely over the weekend, as the original seems to have been seriously butchered by the previous owner...

Would that be between the end can and where the system goes from 2 to 1?

It will have been cut so a slip-on can can be fitted.

Hi sally it hasnt been cut before the 2 to1 its worse than that its been cut off with the very base of the original can still intact at the weld, then holes drilled then lots of washers, putty and other nastiness to allow a bolt on art (not for road use filed off) can to be fitted!?! I will post a pic asap when i take one to explain it further.

Hope ive put up picture properly. (and not broke any forum rules) Just wanted to show the bodge that was done by previous owner! After seeing how the beowulf cans look on various members bikes i think i will be going down that route, and cutting 'Frankenzorst' off the bike. :)

I have an original one from a curvy kicking about with a slip on piece welded to it so you can attach it to the downpipe.
