In light of the chav-based disabling of my garage door, I decided to give my pointy an accommodation upgrade while I went away on holiday...

My wife would have a heart attack if I showed her that picture. We have an empty worktop policy in this house. (With the exception of the kettle)

Quick tip tho - put something under the sidestand - like a beer mat or something.
Will avoid any possible damage to the flooring from the weight of the bike.

maria has already stated no bikes in the house when we get a house (IF we get anhouse :()

you'd better not show her this one then:

yep, it's a zetec block in a dishwasher. The guy who did it said:
"Before using the parts washer, make sure that domestic management has either given her permission (no chance) or has gone out for the day. Load parts into parts washer and add dishwasher tablet.."

Don't add a dishwasher tablet FFS! They turn alloy bits black, it works fine with just water.

it's EFI ha
sorry to derail but for those who are interested, this is how it turned out:
"Wait an hour, and grab the parts before the drying cycle really gets going. Dry everything with clean workshop rag, then spray everything with WD40, as the dishwasher salt makes everything get surface rust REALLY quickly. Turns out nice though"

Under YCs advice I've had brake calipers in the oven....just don't tell Im Indoors, I've banned bikes in the house. He used to have four in his before he moved in my home. One of which was in his bedroom, up a spiral staircase:smt120. Any bikes needing repairing in my house stay outside, until he buys me one with a bigger kitchen perhaps(shhhhhhhhh)
Took me a few moment to see the Pointy, what with the cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher. All look the same to me:p:p:p
I think it matches the floor perfectly:smt003

timwilky: We'd just done the dishes (in preparation for going away, see) hence there's a lot of stuff drying on the work surfaces. Usually all that's there is the colourful cutting board, and the collection of appliances (George Foreman, etc) in the far corner.
Soulkiss: didn't think of that. It didn't damage the floor, though.
gracie: how'd it get in there? looks like there's no room at all.
paulthe6th: mad respect for washing an engine block in the dishwasher!

I have one of them homes where I am lucky enough to get in the door mysilf without having to turn my shoulders , I`d love a garage or the ability to bring a bike indoors on cold nights for some fettling ..... all my work has to be done outside in all weathers :(
And Paul , nothing you ever do anymore actually surprises me now . When I come to yours and you make a brew I wil be actually checking the bottom of the kettle first for something that is probably being "Treated" in there for something .
