Feeler: Isle of Wight rideout?

Reading this month's BIKE magazine that landed on my doorstep this morning, they have an article set on the IOW and tbh they remonded me just how nice the island can be to ride

Just seeing if there's any interest in a weekend away type rideout later in the year? the roads aren't anything particularly special but the scenery is nice and there's lots of little features to see within a small radius

I am thinking of heading over there for the day some time soon, any tips on good roads apart from the one in Bike??

the one they mention is the only one i'd avdise you to avoid:mrgreen: it's widely known for silly speed antics and the cops know it well, plus the surface is terrible

The road between shanklin-->ventnor then ventnor-->whitwell is nice, as is the downs road over from brading--> newport. there's also a stretch between rookley-->niton that's also great fun:thumleft:

just watch out for the island drivers, they're hopeless, and the roads are country roads, so there's lots of stuff to be aware of:cool:
