Believe me when I say I am far from chauvenistic - I taught all three of my daughters to ride bikes when they were very young because I believe girls should be able to have fun doing everything boys can. I told one of them she shouldn't really do it any more because she wasn't very good at it and was going to hurt herself one day. She was almost glad I'd suggested it because she wasn't really enjoying herself but didn't want to let me down or disappoint me.
