okay so what exactly does a biker look like ?
Yesterday I was chatting to one of my patients dads about going away on the bike... he said "you don`t look like a biker".
This morning I answered the door to the postman bringing my avon skin so soft and a discussion ensued about going to Scotland... he said "you don`t look like a biker"
I then went to the post office to get some euro`s, we started talking about holidays and my trip to Scotland and she said "you don`t look like a biker"
I then went to the cobblers to see about having my leathers shortened.... he said "you don`t look like a biker"
Finally and possibly the best I was on the phone chatting to a guy about breakdown cover for the bike and he said "you don`t sound like a biker"???????
Can somebody please tell me how I should look :confused:

i think, think, thats its cos we're girls. and dont have arms the size of hams with celtic and skull tattoos everywhere (as thats what most men seem to think female bikers are like) and about 7 feet tall
the best one i got was when i answered the door to the pizza delivery man in a school girl outfit (get in free to the club if your in uniform) and my bike is parked in the front garden and he asked, just as he was leaving - as a joke - "that your bike then" with this massive smug smile on his face and i was like "er, yeah actually" he almost fell over in shock, was very funny!
or the time when i was out for dinner for my mates 21st and one of his friends started talking about bikes so i joined in. he looked at me in my LBD and curls and tiny handbag and said "you dont look like a biker!" i had to show him my licence to prove it! and he couldnt his head around how large my bike was, especially as i shrugged and said it was jsut a standard 600!
do you really want to conform to a stereotype?

Both Carol and I have tattoos, long hair and a a couple of sets of bike gear between us. However she is a biker and I am a Motorcyclist. :mad:
You see, she has a leather waist coat that she wears everywhere and she hangs out with the local bike gang because she knows a few of the guys, I go along as well and they treat me like an interested wife, I am tolerated but not spoken too. :?
Carol's Mum was also a biker in her younger days, her last bike was something called a 535, not sure what one of them is though. She is still quite young even though she is in her sixties, but has refused my offers of the keys to my SV. She is an absolute sweetie and no one would ever think that she spent the 60's through to the early 90's riding motorbikes, bless her. :smt059

+1. Nobody seems in the least suprised when I mention it, although sometimes a little at the size as females are only allowed to ride scooters/ mopeds & 125's.
Women bikers don't shave their legs... or any other part of their anatomy for that matter.

I was told I don't look like a biker either. A lot of my work colleagues are very surprised when they see me roll out of the carpark after work. My other half does.....no tattoos or piercings, but a scruff, with old leathers that are battered to death, and an afghan scarf, none of them textiles for that one:rolleyes:

does half of my T shirts with either flames or skulls , all bar one pair of jeans with either grease or acid holes in, a coat rack with only one "normal" coat; the rest full of bike gear count at all :smt102

as a slight derail....unlike me i know...i drove past a pub today that proclaimed on the blackboard outside "Bikers Welcome..."
my instant thought was well bollcks to you, i have no intention of drinking in a pub where they feel i need to be told i'm welcome to drink in there....

To be fair Keith, some pubs used to have signs that said 'No bikers'. Its not so common now.Some People tend to see bikers in a different light these days...not like the days of old, when they all had handlebar tashes, smellled of 3 year old patchouli, with cut off denims and a pi$$ pot helmet:p
can they discriminate? thats how i viewed it....
are there huge gangs of bikers that roam the streets looking to tear up a pub and rumble with the mods..??

I don't know, it does scream discrimination, but then in years gone by they used to to also say 'no workwear' on some pub doors.
I've worked in many pubs that have had signs like this, mainly local village pubs. I think its wrong, but it seems bikers or workwear could give the wrong impression and deter trade perhaps?

girl friend has her ears pierced, but hardly ever wears ear rings. long hair covers them, so its pretty pointless. I dont mind ear piercings, but anywhere else...
