Devon/Somerset GP Rideout!!!

Now the Porlock camping weekend date is sorted we're going to try this rideout again, it'll will be on the 29/08/09!!

Again we'll meet in Sainsbury's Petrol Station just off junction 25 (M5) for fuel/pee stop, leaving by 10:30am prompt!!!

We'll be meeting the Happy Campers at Minehead oposite the train station (is that ok campers?) around 12ish!!

The Route:-

Taunton (Sainsburys) - Wheddon Cross - Dunster - Minehead - Then up the famous Porlock Hill onto Lynton/Lynmouth - Barnstaple (Fuel Stop) - Crediton - Tiverton (lunch/fuel) - Bampton - Wiveliscombe - Taunton (Sainsbury's again)

The route will take a good part of the day, it's 140miles but i've tried to avoid the main roads keeping us away from the Sunday drivers ect.

If the campers want me to take them back to Porlock via my route then i'd be more than happy to, if it's dry it's a cracking route!! :cool:

just an idea, but why not start the rideout at the campsite*? as most people will be camping

We can do, I just thought it would be a nicer meeting point thats all. I didn't want to upset Porlockers too much!!! I know it would mean coming back on yourselves but i'm not sure of a place in Porlock other than the campsite to meet. If you think that'll be ok the campsite it is!!! :p

Nah it's alreet hovis, the late start is because i'm starting the ride from Taunton like i did last time. From 10:30am start Taunton then onto you campers i'll get to you around 12ish. But if theres no interest for just a rideout and it's only the campers going then i'll scrap this and just meet up with you lot!!

Theres a largeish carpark just outside the entrance the to Campsite, It has toilets and if we arent to big a group we could all meet up there and not disturb the others on the campsite to much...

it seems to have got a bit messy with the threads, but we will be camping friday- monday aug bank holiday.

the main ride out is sat, but there will probably be on eon sunday as weel

Mand finishes work at 4 pm friday maybe can get her end at 3pm and we be off for 3,30 and at site for half 8 ish.. so you could meet us with beer and chips and put our tent up for us..
