Hi guys any of you got an iphone out there and want to share good aps with others .

I use one called MOtionX GPS which is a gps tracker .

You press start before you set off put the phone in your pocket and then go on your ride out ..... when you stop for a rest you can pause it and then carry it on . once finished you can email the route to your PC and look at your tracks on Google Earth and also see your Avrage speed / Max speed / Where you got your Max speed and much more verry good aplication for only £1.50

Also there is a DB meter for you who want to see how loud your Can is !! :) cheers

Have you checked out shazam yet? It's free and pretty freaky. But I'd be cautious using the app you described, it's only a matter of time before somebody gets prosecuted for speeding on the strengh of evidence you gathered yourself..... I have a similar app for tracking routes and speeds, but after one use deleted it!

No one can prove it was you who was doing them speeds unless you gave a police officer your phone and let him look for his self ?

As for the GPS, well it's a matter of time till to police catch on..

Spose you came off and they started looking for your ICE on your phone and found an app running? That may well put your riding in a very different light...

Xmotion GPS is good if your off roading or trecking but thats about it.

Have you all upgraded to 3.0 as yet, if not do so really good enhancement.

Anyone JAilbroke there phone yet, some seriously good apps if you can jailbreak, like PDAnet (using at moment tethering Iphone to laptop to use 3g) a bit naughty as O2 don't want you do use it, but can't really tell if phone is being tethered or or not.

Cycorder is an app where you can use the phone as a video camera.

SHazam is a good app if you go clubing or gigs etc, but the music has to be clear, so best used in the car and the radio playing and you need to know the song before it's anounced on the tranny.

Anyone use the playmesh games such as Imafia and Race wars etc? PM me you detail so this programme and we can build a comunity on playmesh called SV650?

yeah mine was jailbroken got all the apps for free but the new update wipted it off GRRRR they havent got another one out yet that works

sounds like the main things they've added is the ability to record video and copy/paste text (in sms, email and web browsing) and various other things.

I've jailbroken 3.0 on mine, redsn0w works a treat, google it. then get appsync for your apps, I'm happy again, I can feel the illegality flowing through my veins again LOL. Think ultrasn0w came out today which I believe does carrier unlock perhaps? dunno, never needed it as its a work phone :oops:

Apps:
Peggle - Stupidly addictive game, good fun.
Tweetie/tweetdeck - decent twitter clients.
Traffic uk - Does what it says on the tin.
Geocaching - if you are in to that kinda thing is good, I like it.
Fieldrunners - another little game that transfers well to the iPhone.
Locly/aroundme - Apps to find useful things around your location.

Sadly they haven't got the 3GS sorted and mine arrives tomorrow (o2 corporate accounts ROCK!)

the 3g does not have video with the update but jailbreak it with redsn0w and you can get cycorder.

sbs settings is another cracking app (easy access to common switches) ie wifi 3g edge bluetooth airplane etc with a little swipe over the carrier logo at the top.

pdanet is excellent as previously explained.

3.0 as mentioned above has the following changes.

you can rotate SMS / MMS
You can forward SMS / Contacts etc
You can send MMS
Blue toooth now has AC2P (maynot be correct spelling) but it's not full as my S9 does't control the forward or back buttons just pause and volume (need to check on more of this)
Cut and Paste
Internet Tethering (O2 will disconnect you, if your found to be tethering, not sure how they could tell the difference though) Check iclarified for details on this.
and probably many more that I haven't discovered yet.

Jailbreaking in my humble opinion is great as you can get extra apps that Apple don't approve such as PDAnet:winner: cycorder (however need to establish a way to get the videos off as I lost my videos when upgraded to 3.0)

There are many more apps that are on Cyndia (jailbroke version of App Store) and add ons.

If you wish to jail break go to www.iclarified.com (http://www.iclarified.com) and navigate to teh Iphone tuturials all is explained in there pretty well.

As far as I can tell or searched jailbreaking doesn't invalidate your warranty only unlocking it does, but I think you need to jailbreak to unlock using yellow or ultraSnow

Anyone used Alertme as yet,

I used it once but it kept on telling me where mobile cameras where, but when I past they were none to be seen, not sure how the app works, poss through a database on camera positions static and mobile.

It got pretty anoying after a while going off when nothing was there, but I supose if you know where the cameras may be might be half the battle.

I got my 3GS on Friday, it's by far the best phone I have had by a long shot. I'm still trying to get used to it though
