Hello
I'm new to the forum so though i'd say hello :smt039
Only been riding since last Sept, my 1st bike was a Suzuki GS500 but i now ride a curvy SV650s which i have lowered a bit (3 inches).
I am based in teesside and am hoping to find some riding buddies - so if you're local and like rides out, gimme a shout.

Hello and welcome! I believe your regional group would be the Pennine Massive (altho it covers a big area so many of us won't be "local" :().
3" lowered? is that about as low as it will go?

When i got my bike i had about 1 1/2 inch taken out of the seat then a few weeks ago i changed the suspension linkages and dropped the folks abit which gave me an extra 1 1/2 inch.
I'm now almost flat footed, which on uneven ground means it's alot easier for me when manovering :)
I have a little look at the Pennine Massive - it does cover a big area doesn't it! i better the meetings are hugh
no cos they won't come out when it rains. Which it does. A lot.
There's only 2 meets that I know of - Rivington Barn (tuesdays) for the lancs/manchester lot and Squires (wednesdays) for the yorkshire bunch.
Hello and welcome to the .org

Thanks for such a nice welcome everyone, what a friendly bunch :)
Spiderman - the annual rideout looks great but its a bit far for me, maybe next year as i might be able to get some holidays from work.
I have had a look at the Pennine Massive stuff though, which is a bit closer to home.
hiya welcome to the .org good choice on the curvy by the way there the best ones although some others on here would disagree

well Mr Chompy and Specialone i love the looks of my curvy :)
When i was bike shopping i found that i couldn't get my lil leg over the pointy as easily as the curvy -(kept kicking the pillion seat) there's not much difference in height but i just felt the curvy was more suited to me.
So is curvy Vs pointy an issue on the forum?

Hey welcome, enjoy your bike and the summer while it last.
Yeah i'm a bit short but I didn't have to lower the bike which was good:cool: But my folks sometimes have to push me off the driveway, its the most uneven drive i have ever seen!
If you can manage the distance its worth it, we had a really good time last year. You would probally need like 2-3 days off work, I'm off 3 days plus da w/end. It so worth it:p

ummm the curvy or pointy debate - i say each to there own, both are great in their own special way ( i'm new and don't want to start any bad feeling here!)
To be far with just a bit out the seat i could manage with the height (on level ground) but lowering that little bit more just helps with the confidence - i had an incident with a 4x4 turning right on to the main road i was travelling along a few months back - the good from that was that i replaced my writen off bike with the SV :) but the bad thing was that my confidence took a nosedive that i'm battling with.
If i could get any holiday from work i would come to the annual event - but sadly i can't. I will definately make sure i get the time off next year :), (unless the pointy owners kick me off the forum in the meantime!)
I will go try and dig up a photo of my bike....
