As the title says.

I know most people on here have owned an sv and still do but on the rideouts I've noticed other bikes creeping in.
I was just wondering what the ratio is sv to others.

SV is the only bike I've ever owned! (only been riding 4 years). I think I might change it at some point but can't make my mind up what else I would want...

Jeez. Not this old chestnut again. So some people have a bike that isn't an SV. Big deal.

A more relevant question, given that the forum has changed its name to "SV 650 and Gladius 650 Forum", would be "how many people on here own a Gladius?"

For the record, I currently own a ZZR1100 but I'm selling that to go back to an SV - probably a thou'.

No option for "moved on but still have an SV in the garage, but dont ride it because its not taxed or insured" then ?

Argh...I voted wrong! The thread title and voting question are sort of contradictory! I voted "no" for moving on!

I still have the SV and will do for at least a couple of years! (Then it'll be a ZX10-R or Tuono 1000 R Factory ;))

Its just that the forum is an sv based forum and i know loads on here dont own an sv anymore, Its not an "you dont own an sv so your not welcome" thread.

If someone told me I couldn't post here because I don't have an SV, then I'd invent one and stick it in my sig... the iSV650.

FWIW, I now ride a Kawasaki Versys, but still like the pointy SVs.

Carol rides my SV and she tells me that it is a really nice bike. :smt064

However, I have another bike and that bike is so awesome, it is simply dazzling. I must admit that I have a bit of an adversion to the inline four, so I chose a super powerful...

I've never owned an SV. My first bike (which I still own but is currently 'resting') was a GS500F.

I only ended up on this 'ere forum because a couple of the Soho Massive orgers invited me down to Soho when I met them on a Bike Safe course a few years ago.

tt600 - gone

I love the B**by Bike, despite its little quirks.

still got a curvy SV. It was my first bike and I bought it brand new 8 years ago. DD bought me my dream bike a few years ago and once its passed it MOT on Friday I will be riding that all the time. Also in the garage is the Benelli which I will never ride as I cant reach the ground and a TS 50. Will keep the SV for my daughter. Oh also a couple of mini motos in garage, I can reach the ground on them lol

Mine through not having the cash to get anything new more than anything! I still have my SV 9 years on. However, as much as i would love a Triumph Tiger, i still think that for a while i would miss the traffic crunching capabilities of the SV, which through london, is still second to none!

Bike 1 - cagiva Planet 125 (bless!)
Bike 2 - SV650s curvy - Write off
Bike 3 - SV650s Pointy - Stolen
Bike 4 - SV650s Pointy - Stolen
- Due to cost and getting sick of thefts of bike went for:
Bike 5 - 1990 Triumph Trident 750 - Write Off
Bike 6 - BMW K1300 GT SE - Fingers Crossed =p.
Seriously considering getting another cheap SV as a sporty backup when funds allow.

Still got an SV.

In bits to get sorted, subframe paint and new fork internals. Another warped disc. Possible convert from clip-ons to h/bars to aid the girlie (not my wheelies of course. Cough.) too.

Enjoying being back using my gsx14 everyday. Overkill.

Still have the SV. Have had an assortment of bikes at the same time. But the SV is the most fun little bike I have ever owned and have no intention of parting with it. When it finally gives up, I will probably go get a Gladius. The Gladius can be made to look quite good. Unlike the pointy SV.

I would have still had my SV if I hadn't done some extreme stunting action. Only have the Ducati now but once everything settles down I want to get an SV for commuting/bad weather days :) Im such a tart.

My thinking exactly mr speirs! I've still got my SV but a sports bike and a power ranger suit Im hoping for by next summer. keep the SV for poor conditions.

SV for commuting, last 2 bikes for this job have been Bandits.

Cheap to buy, insure and (so far) run, the SV is probably a bit less comfortable in Central London, but more fun on the country roads home than the Bandits.
When this one is too knacked to do the London run (probably another 3 or 4 years) then I'd definitely have another SV - hopefully the thou!

SV was my 3rd bike... currently on my 5th (see sig)

I do occasionally miss the sv, it did the job at the time and was the first bike that got me into the social side of biking via these forums

but I think i'll be Triumph for life now

I still own and ride mine but I've moved on to pedals a bit... If I had to get another bike tomorrow, I guess I'd most likely get another SV though, since I know how to keep one and how to make it work well with minimal effort, I don't know if I could be bothered to learn another bike. The SV still suits me very nicely indeed. Though I did always have a hankering for a late-model CBR600F
