A371 just outside Axbridge. My fault, lack of forward observation and car in front braked hard and I skidded and laid the bike over on the left side.

Gladius is still a runner but the handle bars were bent and it would have been unsafe to ride so have to call recovery. Cosmetic damage to panels and bent gear stift.

RST leathers did the job :) Banged my left knee but no serious damage.

Look on the bright side, gives me an excuse to do some mods to the bike :D

Like... get rid of and get a decent bike? Only kidding mate, they're not that bad. Glad you're ok mate, not a nice feeling having an off but it'll work out as a learning curve by the sound of it. Take care bud

Gladius is now safely at the garage. The radiator has a dent in it, the plastic 'pod' on the left side is scuffed as is the plastic cover on the tank. Handle bars are bent, but they have a nice set of Renthal bars which I think will look better than the standard ones :)

Depending on the cost of the repairs I think I may get the R&G tail tidy fitted whilst they have her in.

Can't wait to get her back on the road, just need to remember to stay upright next time :D

Sorry to hear about this SP. Glad you're ok. Fingers crossed to a cheap and speedy fix (both you and the bike).

sh1te one bud sorry to hear about it but lesson learned i think
2 points photos required and price to fix when your done, not to compound your misery but to get a sense of what happens on a off repair wise (concidering getting mrs giggles one as her first bike and as well all know you drop your first bike at some stage

I didn't take a photograph, but this picture shows where the damage is.

The white plastic pod next to the radiator took most of the impact and caused the damage to the radiator.

The white plastic cover panel on the side of the tank is badly scratched. This plastic marks easily and if anyone is thinking of buying a Gladius then they may want to get the suzuki transparent tank protector part no. 9900-44H08-PAD

Engine bars or R&G bungs would have helped. I will probably get the R&G's fitted (better late than never :D ).

Use the renthal ones, they don't bent like the standard cheesium bars which are utter mince and fail in the slightest of lowsides.

Unless the bars are totally folded then it's fine to ride home.

Fit some crash bungs.

Ooops. Sorry to hear this fella. Glad both you and bike got out of it relatively unscathed.

Oppps are you the first Gladie owner to have a off. Hope your mending ok. And as i also own a Gladie I'm interested in knowing how your bike's coming long.

What sort of Renthals are you getting. I'm after a set street fighter bars.

I think I am the first Gladie to crash :) I popped in to Crescent today and they are pricing up the repairs. I will post specs, prices and photos when the repairs are complete.

They still have a green/black as a demo but no more bikes to sell. Apparently new stocks won't arrive until august/september at the earliest.

Got the estimate today...£900+ and that was after taking off some items that were only slightly damaged and did not need replacing. The new radiator is £362.83, the plastic cover on the left side of the tank is £76.60 + vat, and a new indicator is £42.55 + vat....and then add the 3 hours labour at £61.10 per hour. I'll be phoning the insurance company tomorrow and making a claim.

You are going to lose your NCB and take a shagging for next 5 years for a radiator and some bits of trim? Mentalist.

I don't have a NCB to lose.

But it will load your premiums for the next few years.

I would be looking for a secondhand rad, or other avenue. You could get a bespoke rad for that price, or get yours welded up.

Should be getting my bike back on Saturday :)
Still waiting for one part but its just cosmetic so no point in it gathering dust in the garage for another 2 weeks.
