not officially no. they've called off the search for bodies now, but continuing the search for the black box, which will emit (or transmit?) a signal for up to 30 days after an accident. Which has to be getting close to now i should imagine

If you read the BBC News article the safety regulators had concerns about the airline's maintenance and they haven't flown in the EU since they were asked about it when one of their flights landed in France. I believe they were due for a chat with the EU safety people in order to establish just how bad things were. (Read maybe they were on their way to be black listed).
This year hasnīt really been good for planes, there have been quite a few since the american pilot managed to save his plane.

Easy are predominently a fly by wire airbus operator, they still have some 737-700 aircraft, the only time they have 757 machinery is on charter to cover shortages.

Being a dumbass here, does that mean, like, renting?

Yes, some companies specialise in having aircraft available for short term rental, by the flying hour complete with crew, they sit and wait for other operators to have problems and then operate for them at vast expense. For a longer term shortage an airline will rent just the aircraft and fly it themselves but this needs to be a type the airline is authorised to operate, so for Easy an Airbus 319 could be flown this way but a 757 would have to come with the crew.
