The heat shield is rattling on the car. I've had a look and 3 of the 4 fixings have come off. It's hard to see but it looks like some sort of push-on fixing. Doesn't look like a nut.
Any ideas what it's called/where to get it? :)
It might help if you were to let us know what car it might be on as I think the org might be short of clarevoiants.

Thought it might be a standard thingymajig. It's a 2002 golf 1.4e

Try ringing a VW dealer and asking them for an exhaust heatshield mounting thingamejig:)
Might be able to get them from GSF or Euro Car Parts.

Cut mine off when it started making the noise.
10k later and it's not caused any probs
; )
Just pull it off, shouldnt do no harm.
Disclaimer: I accept no responsibility if you pull it off :)

I've got the same rattle on my Mondeo. Not too annoying so I'm just going to ignore it until service time roll around.

They're normally BIG aluminium washers holding them on. Beer can bottoms are a good replacement for them.
