And it's pure common sense to wear proper protective bike gear at all times, on long or short journeys.
I'm not picking you out Matt, just using your post to pose a question in general to everyone in the thread.
So are we saying the majority of foreign police forces (and foreign riders come to that) have no common sense? Including the Americans that have a habit of sueing each other.
We wear leathers because in this country it is not too hot to do so, and because in this country that is the way we have been educated. We definately make motorcycling safer as a result and I wear full kit for all rides of any significance, but if this was a hot country we wouldn't be having the conversation, we'd be the same as everybody else around the world.
