Hi everyone, just picked up my first bike today, a K3 SV650n (ty Loz!).

I passed my DAS course 2 weeks ago, so i'm a very very new rider. It's all still a bit scary still but I'm definately getting more and more confident with each ride.

I'm currently living in Oxford for work but I've spent most of my life in Sussex, either Eastbourne or Brighton. Not sure which area I fall into on the forums but hopefully I'll meet some of you on the roads soon!

Sean :)

Dont worry, i was exactly the same.
Every time i go out now i will do something really good like take a corner well ( not good on corners yet) and then something stupid like run a slow turn wide etc.
Only miles under the belt helps and i still need loads.
BTW great choice with the pointy:D:D:D:D:D

Thanks for warm welcome!
I like the look of both the pointy and the curvy SVs but I think I'll have to sit in the pointy camp now i've got one!

Hoping to get some more miles under my belt soon but I have to say, my bum needs a rest from the 2 hour ride I did today! Might have to find a gel seat... :)

Hello Sean, welcome on board! Please don't try to run before you can walk, or else you will find that you can't do either. I have personal experience of this, believe me:( Enjoy your new bike:cool:

Hey Sean, nice to see another Oxford SV650 owner! I have a K3 naked aswell, and live in Oxford. Me and Philbut live in Oxford, and regularly go out on rides and trips with the Thames Valley group, you are more than welcome to join us. Where abouts do you live? I am just off Botley road near the station. Have a pop into the Thames Valley section and check out when the next meet is, we usually meet down near maidenhead every other Tuesday. Best thing if you are a bit new is to get riding with a few other people I think, in a relaxed way, that is how I picked up a lot of useful advice.

Glad to see there's a couple of other riders in Oxford! I'm just off the Abingdon road, near the Folly Bridge.
Definately up for a ride with some more people, although you may have to ride slower than you usually would to accomodate me! I'll pop my head into the Thames Valley section and see what's going on :)
